No SSD is the only reason I'm not looking further,
like you I'm no expert but does look good for the money even with the 920MX graphics which should be enough for the home user .

Does anyone know if when you put in an SSD after, do you replace the 2TB hard drive or the new SSD will complement it and you have both 2TB HDD and a SSD simultaneously?

you would have to replace the HDD with the SSD, as it only has one slot for a storage drive..

I haven't done it myself, but my understanding is you can replace the optical drive with a SSD (or another HDD I guess), you have make sure it's the right size etc.

You can remove the nowadays fairly useless dvd-rw drive and put in a caddy. Put the 2tb drive in the caddy and the ssd in the main original slot. This is just to guarantee 6gbps speeds to the ssd, as it is probably unknown whether the dvdrw sata port is 3 or 6gbps.

Here you go folks:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lenovo-IdeaPad-310-510-2nd-SATA-HDD-SSD-Hard-drive-Caddy-Adapter-/122130514655

Remember it will void the warranty likely, as you will probably have to damage some kind of sticker by taking the casing apart etc.

Hope this helps

The you can get a laptop hard drive external enclosure @ under £10 and plug it into a USB 3.0 port:

£100 cashback not there not working can't even see it and how do you get it to work plus £3.99 delivery
#10
Dont think it is cashback... £100 credit into your `very` account.

It appears to be the same, but this one has 12 GB RAM as opposed to Amazon one with 8 GB, and this one has 2 TB HD, versus Amazon 1TB. Not sure about everything else though.

The £100 is credited to your account so if you have previous BNPL the £100 is taken off those purchases. If you have only purchased the laptop then the £100 is credited against your laptop.

Why not hotter for this - seems very high spec, IPS etc?

Thinking of buying it as I'm looking for 15.6 screen, decent speakers and decent screen for under £500.
