I'm pretty sure I saw a TV Advert just yesterday (plus a few other times on and off during the last 1.5 weeks or so?), where such a Laptop Deal DID come with a free Bag/Laptop Bag and the like?.

I'm not sure as to if that was for Currys/PC World now?, or ARGOS instead etc?, as didn't pay it much mind (as such Adverts are repetitively on our TV's anyway?, and as such, will always be Advertised again and again regardless?, as it has ... lol). :-)

May be worth keeping an eye out for the TV Adverts perhaps?, and/or ask Curry's, etc in person instead maybe?, lol.

That i5 didn't come with a FHD screen this one does (It's worth dropping down from i5 to i3 so long as it comes with a FHD screen).

Agree with other poster, prefer a proper screen to an i5 on a basic laptop.

Had 1080p on a laptop a good ten years ago, can't believe they're still shipping glossy 1366x768 laptops.

Slower CPU. 768p vs 1080p display. But it has more RAM... personally I'd prefer the better screen... since its the thing you look at whilst using it.

The screens on these are actually pretty nice Matte and fairly bright FHD.

You can buy a 4GB stick of DDR4 for £17.49 (probably less elsewhere)

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Kingston-ValueRAM-SO-DIMM-PC4-17000-unbuffered/dp/B015CVEN72/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1475329450&sr=8-2&keywords=ddr4+sodimm+4gb

Assuming this laptop is upgradable... Its too new for teardown as far as I can see!

Is it just me or does every laptop deal get slated as not being worth it? Very confusing for those of us who just want a decent spec laptop endorsed by hotuk as a scorching deal! X)

Yes this is why I dislike laptop deals being posted. HUKD members need to come to an agreement like Reddit forums did about buying laptops and update it regularly with new machines that people can agree on. When laptop threads get posted it just causes confusion and conflicting responses, people end up never purchasing anything because of this. It's quite simple to post a good deal on a laptop and when a new one comes out as the OP replace with that one whilst keeping the one you replaced in the information section of the deal. Just create a mega-thread that keeps being updated.

It's not like people are worse off for knowing about another possible deal, though I agree that we do kind of need a mega-thread.
If you have the time to keep it updated, you could post it? :3

One laptop is going to be right for one person, another laptop will be right for someone else. Reddit does not solve this at all.

I love the way it says below the special price "Was £459.99 (from 19/07/16 to 09/08/16)
"

so it was only £460 for three weeks!

Bought this laptop last week, was very surprised to find it had a back lit keyboard at this price point.

Usual curry's tactics. They have been doing this since I was a kid(long time ago).

All the punter sees is WOW £140 off.

If anyone is intending buying this deal, if you buy this via Currys gift cards at Tesco (online or a physical card) you could earn 900 clubcard points, worth £9 (or up to £36 on a 4 x deal or 2,160 Avios)

The build quality is nice for a cheapo laptop, touchpad is average but overall I think it's a class above those nasty 1366x768 ones you get for £200 ish. It's a bit thinner, feels light enough, looks quite nice, and the screen is good with a proper resolution. So it's not the fastest laptop but it's a good compromise for the money I think.
