other than the 7 reviewers from the link in the deal?
#3
well the reviews on the link are mixed -
but its a really good deal ION graphics, 12" screen etc

guess it could go on the credit card
#4

I bought my laptop from them direct, instore in Birmingham. They're pretty good. Very competitive prices. They used to be saveonsamsung.co.uk and have obviously changed to expand their business. I've not used them for delivery etc, so I can't comment on how efficient they are with processing an order online - sorry on that account!
#6
I am buying it online and can comment on this once its arrives , not sure If I can believe only 20 available( showing on their site )
#7
thanks for the feedback
#8
just ordered one!

thanks daitasri

any cash backs possible? on this one?
#10
wicked price - considering hp 311c are about £250.
#11
Just to note; this particular S12 sports the Intel Integrated Graphics stuff. This one has the ION chipset which boasts better graphics capabilities, aswell as HDMI out and [notsure] 3G simcard slot at the back?[/notsure]. I spotted this in a youtube video, it was placed near the hard drive.

EDIT: Just re-checked that, it does exist, but it doesn't work apperently. Word is that it's a dummy slot and cannot work until you open it up (which obviously voids warranty) and probably explains why it wasn't advertised aswell as how low the amount of talk about it is going round considering it's an '09 product.

Can anyone advise me here....

Which is better....

-this with a single core 1.6ghz processor but ion dedicated graphics and 2gb ram
-an acer d255 with a dual core 1.5ghz processor but with only 1gb ram and normal intel onboard graphics?
-an hp dm1 with a dual core 1.3ghz processor but 2gb ram, normal onboard graphics

I realise the ion is years ahead in terms of 720p video, but my needs are being able to run (max) ms word, chrome with loads of tabs and spotify at once. Having good video performance is nice and I would like it, but I have concerns about the n270 for general use like with the above programs open?

If your priority is a smoother overall performance rather than video playback I’d strongly suggest that the Dual Core Intel CPUs are the best option along with 2GB of RAM.

Both have ION chipset, and I believe all S12 with ION have HDMI.

Agree with Badger - looking at the model number (M19KTUK) this appears to be an ION version. As far as I can tell the cheapest ION netbook out there at the moment.

I've used to buy my laptop acer 3935 from them.. Good sellers... and they use DPD for delivery. They're based in Birmingham.

Only weak-point is the CPU but other than that it's a decent deal. ;)
#22
This is a brilliant deal. Same spec as the 311c, but with a better screen and £50 cheaper. I'd be all over this if I hadn't just bought a new laptop.
#23
Looks like a hot deal, thanks

be careful of this company, received a laptop from them spent £500.00 and within 1 week the screen failed, it seemed to have cracked inside and was bleeding, still worked but very badly!, anyhow I rang them, and they refused to take it back advised i had to take up with manu, well as it was a cracked screen the manu refused to fix for free and wanted £150.00 said it was caused by misuse!!

my point is they refuse to take returns and just point you away once they have your money!,

i bought my own screen for £70 and fixed myself, but have no warranty now! so i hope it lasts the year.

also they ordered the windows 7 upgrade disc (preloaded with vista) so when I attempted it said already ordered, when i asked for the disc they wanted £80!!! anyhoo when i mention the legality of this they sent it for the £15.00 acer would of charged and made up some story about they were going to use the laptops as comany ones but then sold them instead. decent prices but company is a little shifty.

Unless a design flaw 99% of cracked screens ARE user caused whether they know it or not
#26
can someone confirm please if this has HDMI out as there is no mention of it on the site but somoene mentioned it above?
#27
Those extra 2 inches will make all the difference over a normal netbook screen.
I'm very tempted by this being looking for a netbook for ages
#28
Looks great spec. . . . shame I bought a Accer Last year (great net book at a good price) but I do have 2 Lenovos and cant fault them, you name it, they have it on them, it's one of the few laptops that give you instructions how to upgrade and good online support
#29
Bought a laptop from them for my son. No problems with service & it 's still working well. I may get this for myself though.
#30
Hmmm. Was looking for a <10" with 2gb ram, decent processor and Win 7. Is the N270 not that great then? Coz it seems the only thing holding me back from buying this (the extra 2" i wasnt after seem to outweigh all the features this offers)
#31
The lenovo S12 in white seems to state that it has a HDMI port, but this is for £229 with a
320GB HDD on their site. Theres no mention of the HDMI port on the specification of the S12 in black.

HDMI is confirmed in black or White.
There are only 2 differences in white: 320GB HDD and Colour: White
#33
I am not sure about the HDMI... Even on the black or White. It's written in the option but can't see it on the pictures. Also if you use the search engine and select HDMI, only the Lenovo IdeaPad U450 comes out not the black and white...
Anyone could confirm this has HDMI out ?
#34
If i do a side by side comparison of the black and white s12 on the saveonlaptops website this is
what it shows:

White: Other HDMI, VGA, Headphone/speaker/line-out jack, Microphone-in jack
Black: VGA Out, Audio In/Out

Purchased a netbook online few weeks ago. They operate under several different names from the same depot.I paid for next day delivery arrived about 24 hours later! However the netbook was not suitable for my needs so I returned it, under the Distance Selling Regulations, in person to their Depot. They gave me a full refund.
Would I recommend them? Yes, as long as you stick up for your "rights" under the "Distance Selling Regulations" very good service.
#36
Worth noting that Lenovo is actually IBM, so not as unknown as some people may think. :)

My mum got a laptop from them for xmas and seems a very good build and spec for price.

hu... This was my first post and deal here, good to see many pitching in withtheir comments..

Looking up the part number (M19KTUK) I am almost certain that this model does NOT have HDMI output.

Close up picture here - http://www.morecomputers.com/extraplus.asp?pn=m19ktuk - and it agrees with the diagram found on the Novatech site too - the side with the VGA connector is surrounded by a USB port on one side and a RJ45 ethernet port on other - there is no HDMI port at all.

HDMI isn't an absolute must (VGA at 1080P looks fine), but it's a shame - it is otherwise a really good price for this spec.
#39
haritori, it's pretty rare that a retailer or manufacturer will accept responsibility for a cracked screen - even if the crack is internal. It's a bit of a **** but that's the way it is. All you can really do is try to avoid poorly-made computers and take-out good accident cover (even though the crack wasn't caused by an accident)

IBM sold their PC division to the Lenovo company some years back. It may have some long IBM origins, but its not an IBM.
However, Lenovo generally have kept to the high standards of the previous owners, and the kit is usually alright.
