Good price for that specification :)

Looks good to me - but the 3-4 hours battery life they claim seems pretty poor for a machine which is supposedly sacrificing processing power for battery life... still voted hot.

??? what do you mean ????? this is a good price i bought an Acer Travelmate TM8371G with the top of the range SU9400 last year to replace a Toshiba Pentium dual core and have been very happy with it it was also from Saveonlaptops and the delivery was very quick even with the free option. I don't really see much of a difference in power from my 2ghz pentium to this ULV cpu which is a surprise considering the massive loss of CPU speed. This is a steal at £299 for a decent ultra portable laptop by a great manufacturer its not that much more than a Net book but is a hell of a lot faster, have some heat.

Read again, but slowly this time

Good price, but I'm holding out for the Dell Inspiron Duo; it's like an iPad but with Windows 7 and you can put it inside a laptop housing where the screen normally goes.

Great spec for the money - have some heat. 13.3"-14" screen size is the sweet spot for portability as far as i'm concerned. At £299 it's a lot cheaper than even the comparable refurb models knocking about. The spec looks a though it should include an HDMI out connection (in order to play high def movies on a large flat screen tv etc). Can anyone confirm it has?

This video says that the U series have HDMI out. Very hot deal, will look at ordering this for uni.

Some reviews of this say that it comes with a DVD drive. Does that mean you can add one later? I want a 14" laptop but can't seem to find one at a good price with an in-built DVD drive. I realise manufacturers are making fewer of these to save weight and power

Some feedback....

Mine was delivered first thing yesterday morning (on free super saver delivery as well).... having only ordered about 2:30pm the day before...... superb service from saveonlaptops.

Not fired it up yet but a quick examination of the box contents...
- Laptop
- Battery
- AC Adaptor + Plug
- Manuals

The laptop itself is a very nice bit of kit... no optical drive as already noted, but it does have webcam, card reader, Fingerprint scanner, multitouch trackpad (so can use the pinch zoom in out etc. features) and is really light, compact and thin.

I read some comments somewhere about it being difficult to upgrade these ideapads, which is not entirely correct. There are two removable panels on the bottom each giving direct access to memory and hard drive respectively and the enclosed manuals actually detail the steps required to replace/upgrade these items.

+ Confirmed... its has both HDMI & VGA.

++ It also has Bluetooth
