In my experience Lenovo do a superb job with their laptop packages. I have found the build quality to be excellent, the installed software stable, and I'd choose them over many other top manufacturers.

besides the sony (dedicated graphics options) and the asus n81, i dont think there is much on the market that can complete with this for build quality... 14" dedicated gfx, 4gb, 500gb... its a cracking deal, shame the cpu is weak, but on the other hand it prob means more battery life :)

my gf went for this @£660 yday: -

im sure you can guess why she did... :p

correct me if I am wrong but Lenovo have always made the laptops, was it not that ibm just put their branding on?

i think u would be better of with a timeline if u need the battery life, all these low powered laptops are for getting the most battery life, you won't get get a fast dual core doing 8 hrs.

On the contrary look at the Asus Ul30VT or the Asus UL30-JT which have overclocked processors and hybrid Gfxs <1.8kgs and 12 hr batteries!.. cheaper than this, and gr8 build quality. You can buy them now from the US shipped to UK, or wait for a month or so and get them in the UK!!

Lenovo is almost all we use at work and we have almost no problems with them, very well built and great support for drivers etc. I prefer their laptops to several other brands I've used. The gf's pink Sony Vaio is slightly better build quality but the Lenovo's are certainly better than my Acer and HP/Compaq (same company) I've recently been setting up.

The spec on that looks about spot on for the price, and by that I mean good. Don't get too hung up on cpu speeds ;-)
