Also this for a similar price: http://www.laptopsdirect.co.uk/lenovo-v110-15isk-80tl-core-i5-6200u-2.3ghz-4gb-128gb-ssd-dvd-rw-15.6-inch-80tl0010uk/version.asp

If neither of these are worth the money, can suitable alternatives please be suggested? Don't mind paying more if worth it, but only really need it for general use. Don't really need high capacity HDD's so was erring towards an SSD. 8GB RAM would be nice too. Probably asking for too much ;-)

good price for an i5, this price is normally i3 territory.

Skimped on the screen resolution but not bad for what it is.

Not full HD but perfectly acceptable at that price, everything else looks good

Had a look. Good at the price or look at dell outlet and be patient

This one seems to be the same model for £30 less and a free mouse thrown in.

Thanks. I'm looking at your link on a mobile, and can't see anything about a free mouse??
Also, your link says a battery life of 3-4 hours, whereas the original post says 6 hours. Any idea which is correct??

You could also go for this laptop, which is also an i5, but it has 8GB RAM. Then just swapout the 1TB HDD for this SSD at just £30. That way for a total of £330, you'll have an 8GB RAM i5 laptop with an SSD. Simply put the 1TB HDD into a caddy and use it as an external drive.

That's an i3.

It's right next to the price. I wouldn't let a free mouse sway your decision, a mouse is super cheap to get.

Fair point. Was just asking as I couldn't see it. Still can't to be honest (on my mobile)

It's a Logitech M105. Just an £8 mouse, nothing special.

The quickest of those laptops is the Lenovo V110-15ISK.

£338 here - https://www.pcworldbusiness.co.uk/catalogue/item/P241697P

Also looking for a new laptop. Difficult to know how much to spend when all I plan to do is write on it and browse internet :(

Unless I've missed something... the V110 you mention is actually the superior machine.
It is a Skylake processor which scores higher in Passmark and should be more efficient. It also uses DDR4 RAM.

You can buy that model for £339.97 from CCL

Edited By: MBeeching on Nov 05, 2016 16:34: CCL Cheaper.

Not sure why my comment suggesting the V110 is superior has disappeared.

Looking on other sites, it seems that 4 hours is correct. Potentially a deal breaker for me.

This was £320 at saveonlaptops a week ago, can't check right now but might still be!

Great spec for the price, I would pull the trigger for the wife but needs full HD to be perfect.

Everyone should expect a better screen nowadays than this. This is nothing special.

Can't agree more. We get higher res on bargain tablets. What's going on?

I agree but the problem is that the market doesn't. This screen is typical of the vast majority of laptops that are seen in shops & online. This is a good buy at this price - not what I would buy but then I don't mind spending more.

Please show us the better screen at this price point.

Id like 8GB but you can upgrade it for some extra i suppose. It might not be a dealbreaker for some.

I bought this for £331 from cclonline last week before the price went up to £349.97 a day ago. Feel free to ask me any questions.

So far the cons are its audio isnt the best as its very low because some one thought its a good idea to put the speaker on the bottom of the laptop and its a really huge finger fingerprint magnet.

Let me just add i'm pretty happy with this as its a super fast laptop for that price with SSD, DDR4 and i5 for a great price.
Out of the box with the os and adjust to actual space you get around 100gb with what i wanted installed now i have about 60GB free.

Would this play FM17 ok? Also what are the hinges like on Lenovo? My current laptop is about 4 yrs old and is a Lenovo G50 and both hinges have gone meaning we have to replace. Seems a common issue on G50s so wondering if common on most Lenovos. Saying that I use a think pad for work and never had an issue but they seem pretty solid.

Plus do you think on Black Friday/cyber Monday there will be a lot better deals so worth waiting till then?

i've seen a few sites with the same price range so this laptop wont shoot up in price so its worth waiting.
system requirements for fm17 are good for ram and cpu but i dont know about the on board graphics.
I've had this for a few days so i cant really comment on the hinges but they look bulky.

The link looks like it redirects to another laptop now the Lenovo B50-50 not the Lenovo V110. As far as i can tell the new laptop has 2.20 GHz instead of the 2.30 GHz V110 has And DDR3 SDRAM instead of DDR4 SDRAM as well as the slight design change.

They seem to have totally removed the v110 from the site. I bought mine from https://www.cclonline.com/product/217472/80TL0010UK/Laptops/Lenovo-V110-15-6-inch-Notebook-Core-i5-6200U-2-3GHz-4GB-1x4GB-128GB-SSD-DVD-RW-WLAN-BT-Webcam-Windows-10-Home-64-bit-Intel-HD-Graphics-520-Black/NOT03295/

remember they have different versions of the v110. You want to look for the SSD 128gb version. kind of a **** thing what laptopsdirect just did.

V110 doesn't have the 8gb ram that is required. Have a look at the system requirements to see what laptop you need.

They haven't done anything. I didn't know which was better and simply posted the link to the B50-50, whilst also giving the link to the V110 in the original post.

Both are still there, so don't know why this has been expired. Don't know how to un-expire.

I’m guessing it was a cookie chase problem, but the V110 is better. But you should have just made another post instead of changing the laptop and moving it to the link description. HUKD should not let people do that, i would remove my like if i could. I liked it for V110 not B50-50

I didn't change anything. The "get deal" button goes to the item described in the title (B50-50). Anyway, I take your point, cheers. Will do it differently next time.

Have to agree - any deal changed materially after the first vote should be spammed.

It's equivalent to a windows machine about half that price though
