nice find and price.Added heat and rep:thumbsup:.ecspecially with the upgraded n280 processor compared to the old n270 which appears to be the standards in current netbook .However i cant comment about the battery life and quite a few people i know have some issues over the creaking sound at the hinges and the general build of the lenovo netbooks..certainly not the build i had in mind..

its the standard intel gma 950, theres new netbooks with new tech round the corner so personally i would rather wait and see what comes out in the new year, perhaps current ion netbooks will drop in price.

This is not a great netbook - very bad build quality - quite shocking for Lenovo.

Ckeck one out first in the flesh if you can!

I think it is OK, not to bad at this price, this brand is a former IBM which you can trust.

What is the difference between this and say a 6 cell NC10. i know it's N270 vs N280 (but you will never actually see thie difference there 1.6 vs 1.66Ghz - pointless) Why do people think it's so special???

Comet are selling the 6 cell NC10 for 219.99 surely that is better
#10
There are much better spec'd netbooks out there. Its not bad for the low price though.

@rheumatoid, the Compaq Mini 311C looks like it will do your 1080p output, but its at least £296.

Performance-wise, there is very little difference between any of these Atom based netbooks.Video streaming is mainly where the weaknesses lie on non ION models, plus screen resolution means doing a bit more scrolling on websites. But they are small and light with a long battery life with acceptable performance for most applications. Personally, I would prefer the NC10 mainly because it's one of the few models with a non glossy screen. But it does come down to personal choice in the end. I would suggest you go and try them out in the flesh as things like the feel of the keyboard and glossy vs matt screen are a factor that differentiates them.

I have the NC10 and love it, t's also the world best selling net book. So i just figured people would go for that over this, anyway it's just my 2 pence

I have had older lenovo netbook S1 series and it was pain scrolling through the websites on the small trackpad and bad build:thinking: IMO..Now owning toshiba nb 200,i can surely say 600Mhz does make a great difference in terms of avoiding lockups.I have nearly 25 tabs open on opera running windows 7 with 1gb ram without lockups and even more in kmeleon:).Also the chicklet keyboard is fantastic and the 9 hour battery life is a life saver:thumbsup:.contrary to the claims i did not see much improvement in performance with 2gb ram in the other netbooks so have not upgraded mine..This may be due to throttled cpu and HDD which does not make full use of RAM.Besides its not intended for photoshop where real performance can be seen anyway. But its upto personal preferences in the end.I feel it better spending on a netbook with best interface than on specs and price alone, but thats my take.:whistling:

Got a similar spec to that listed above here for £199.48 inc delivery. Only difference I can see is that's an N270 not N280 and it's a Lenovo S10e not an S10-2. Is there much difference?

The S10e comes with a three cell battery and the maximum screen resolution (via the 10" screen) is 1024 x 576 - there was also something about the memory but for the life of me I can't remember what it was (I think it was limited to 1.5GB as the maximum it could access, just like the older Acer 8.9" Aspire One Netbooks).

Cheers, Scotty Boy!

Brand new machine, why not forget the antique OS and add the new sparkly Windows 7, then would be very hot
