Definitly decent price for a basic PC.
Still a lot better than Celeron and Pentium ones.

yeah, i bought a lenovo celeron last week, it hasn't come yet, but i'm thinking it's not going to be good for small business use.

£399 on Very - I was hoping to stay under £300 - do you think it's worth the extra £100?

This isn't a good deal, loads of lappies £250ish with i3 and 4GB ram.

I've just paid £300 for one because I was very particular about getting a 14" screen, would never have paid so much for a 15.6 when there are so many going cheaper

Your replies to the other guy say a lot. He posted a better deal for you, and you shrugged off £50 for £6 of clubcard points. Its nonsense to say its £50 of clubcard points "with your others", in the same way that its nonsense for me to pay a £10 bill with a £20, and call it a £10 saving. Its money you have that is unrelated to what you're buying

And who cares if he only posted one deal £50 cheaper than yours? Do you need multiple laptops of different manufacturer?

ps: the way clubcard and tesco cc card points work, is you get 1 - £1 on purchases, 1 - £.5 for CC purchases at tesco. so for this machine i'd get approx 450 points = £4.50. but during boost, you can get up to x4 their value, so in this case £18. As i'm already saving points for something on boost, it makes sense for me to add to this total, use a store I trust with good cust service if anything goes wrong, and not have the headache of a mail in cashback, which in my experience are really annoying.

i never said once my deal was better, rather if you say there are loads of other options, you should know by now someone's going to ask for the links so they can benefit from your knowledge. have a good day!

ok, have fun with ebuyer - people on this 'deals' and 'community spirited' site complaining about them all_the_time.

also, good luck with mail in rebate - unless you meet all their tcs and cs to the letter, you won't get it - they also take at least a month, sometimes more to get it to you. have fun, mr. know it all :3

Whats eBuyer customer service got to do with anything? The warranty is with Lenovo the same as the Tesco 'deal'.

Mail in rebate? Its online - you email invoice after 30 days (you have 30 days to email) and you get the money by BT. Done it many times with Lenovo and HP.

So please get your facts straight before you start dissing any other deals that are on here just because they are better than the one you have posted.

Enjoy your £6 clubcard points....you could get a couple of humble pies with them.

1. Lenovo warranty is only good if you actually get your machine delivered - see thread in Q & A
2. I never dissed any deal at all, I said beware of eBuyer - they are cheap for a reason
3. A lot of people don't want to hassle with any kind of rebate, especially when Lenovo has proven difficult to reclaim rebate from - just going from what people said on here
4. It's not £6 in points for me cuz i have a tesco CC so it's actually £18 during boost - others like me are collecting points with tesco, trust their service, and so would rather spend our money there even if it's slightly dearer (effectively £22 - not worth me taking the risk of using ebuyer, when they are flagrantly ripping people off)
5. you are the ones coming on my thread dissing my deals, not vice versa, i merely asked for links so people reading this can make an informed choice

the problem is people get super defensive over their own deals. Look at this thread, you're happy to type up a massive argument over finer details of the ebuyer deal (which, no matter how you put it, is £50 cheaper and from a company thousands of people use with no problem), and choose to ignore the argos link?

The rebate doesnt "take a month", you have to file it after a month, otherwise you could just claim your rebate then use the 30 day return policy to earn a free £50. The people complaining are generally muppets who lost their receipt, or "were just one day late" in their 30 day window etc... in which case, its the same price

and what Q&A are you referring in 1.? I'd be surprised if people are getting £300 items sent to them in non-recorded post

I think you'll find that arguing against any point raised is actually the definition of defensive*. You didn't even want to concede the fact that the ebuyer one was £50 cheaper lol, with your "it is £50 with my extra money" bit

by all means continue arguing about ebuyer, while ignoring the argos and amazon ones! We didn't jump down your throat, we gave opinions, and you gave defensive replies. The site is about choices, sure, but its fairly objective matter, which is why this is sat at 50 heat and the others are at 300. Just explaining to people who come here to find out why

*although obviously you ignored lots

Mail in rebate? Its online - you email invoice after 30 days (you have 30 days to email) and you get the money by BT. Done it many times with Lenovo and HP.

So please get your facts straight before you start dissing any other deals that are on here just because they are better than the one you have posted.

Enjoy your £6 clubcard points....you could get a couple of humble pies with them.

1. Lenovo warranty is only good if you actually get your machine delivered - see thread in Q & A
2. I never dissed any deal at all, I said beware of eBuyer - they are cheap for a reason
3. A lot of people don't want to hassle with any kind of rebate, especially when Lenovo has proven difficult to reclaim rebate from - just going from what people said on here
4. It's not £6 in points for me cuz i have a tesco CC so it's actually £18 during boost - others like me are collecting points with tesco, trust their service, and so would rather spend our money there even if it's slightly dearer (effectively £22 - not worth me taking the risk of using ebuyer, when they are flagrantly ripping people off)
5. you are the ones coming on my thread dissing my deals, not vice versa, i merely asked for links so people reading this can make an informed choice

have a good day sir, no i won't be eating pie, i've just had some biccies and stand by all my comments above. do you?

the problem is people get super defensive over their own deals.

I'm not getting defensive at all. you are projecting your own negativity onto me. all i said was 'links?' then you and jrw jumped down my throat. yes it was sent recorded via yodel who have since lost it and a month later ebuyer wont replace/refund. i don't want to chance that or them not honoring a rebate for whatever reason, but i others do, thats fine. this is a site for deals and therefore choices, its not a competition guys, so calm down, mkay? :3

*although obviously you ignored lots

again, you are coming at it like someone is right and someone is wrong, when ultimately its subjective and a personal choice. example: pepsi is nearly always cheaper thancoke, but i'll never buy pepsi, because i hate the way it tastes. same with laptop manufacturers and retailers..

This isn't a good deal, loads of lappies £250ish with i3 and 4GB ram.
I've just paid £300 for one because I was very particular about getting a 14" screen, would never have paid so much for a 15.6 when there are so many going cheaper

links?

we're on a deals website, look at the other (cheaper) deals

http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/toshiba-l50-b-1nl-laptop-4th-gen-i3-4gb-1tb-collect-store-279-99-argos-2107611

Do you need multiple laptops of different manufacturer?

ok, have fun with ebuyer - people on this 'deals' and 'community spirited' site complaining about them all_the_time.

also, good luck with mail in rebate - unless you meet all their tcs and cs to the letter, you won't get it - they also take at least a month, sometimes more to get it to you. have fun, mr. know it all :3

If you guys had found the SAME laptop cheaper elsewhere, then you may have a point, but all youve done above is blow hot air. :p

if you're going to boycott a customer based on one bad anecdote, why the hell are you using tesco?

http://lmgtfy.com/?q=tesco+bad+customer+service

anyways lets just clear this up, are the other non-ebuyer deals better than yours or are you defensive?

i've explicitly said "ASIDE FROM THE EBUYER DEAL..." 4 times now and you haven't once addressed it

christ

edit: your last comment answers my question i believe. You could post literally 500 deals of each unique laptop, see how much heat you get.... it won't be much, because people come looking for a good laptop deal, not the best price for a lenovo S510P 15.6". We have google for that

5 times now and you still dodged it. I'm done dealing with a stubborn child. You found an average laptop price and posted it to a site called "hot uk deals". I'll leave you with this

cool so now you've negated your own other deals by proving that this one could be had for £280! seems like you're the joke. hahahah
