sorted bynVidia Shield K1, HTC Nexus 9, ASUS Nexus 7 (2nd gen), Tesco Hudl 2, XIaomi Mi pad 2, Huawei T2 7', Huawei M2 8', Acer Predator 8'. It does not matter if some are old models. They still beat most tablets. DO NOT BUY: Lenovo tab1-tab3, Samsung non-S models, Lenovo Yoga (expensive), Acer Iconia

It's £80, and a perfectly capable processor for this price bracket

Ive got the 8gb version for the kids and they always watch Netflix no problems, space gets eaten quick even with sd card!!
But if its only Netflix etc you be fine
£5 for saving for a refurbed unit versus new isn't worth it in my opinion

I have a Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 which has a very similar performing processor to the one found in this and I find it OK for most tasks. Sometimes the occasional website can cause it to stutter, but it isn't overly concerning.
It must be said that I am very easily annoyed by sluggish IT equipment and I haven't yet been disappointed with the performance of my Yoga Tab 3
For video content you need to aim for 1080p. 720p on tablets looks like crap. And at least 2GB memory ram. Kindle tablets are ok for Amazon content only, they suck for everything else.

This is the 10.1 version not 8"
have to say tho that is a good price for a 10.1" tablet

I believe it is still on Android 6.0.1, but what's the security patch level (what date)?
There's a Samsung tablet for £199 at John Lewis. Free delivery plus 2 year warranty if you're interested.
its fine for a cheap tablet. I use it for internet radio / Spotify & some browsing. I use other more powerful options for more taxing tasks.
I'm sorry, but you are recommending models which cannot be had for £200 'now'. The majority models you've listed have been discontinued or are very difficult to buy within the UK.
The Nexus 9, uh... what year are we in now? And don't get me started on the Hudl... my friend are you stuck in 2014? Those tablets can no longer be bought.
I've been searching for a Shield K1 since the last time it went on sale for £150 (which sadly I missed out). Now it is nowhere to be found for new at £200.
And I suppose you are happy with a laptop at 15.6" with 1366x768 resolution, yet a tablet at 8" with 1280x800 at a budget price does no justice?
Comparing this the Lenovo Tab 3 to the Nvidia Shield K1 is like comparing a Nissan Leaf to a Mercedes Benz E-class.
thank you
The fact that you can find them hard does not change the fact they are the best. You can find them, it's not impossible. And the fact they are 3 years old does not matter. The mobile cpu industry for tablets has not evolved much. They still out perform most tablets in the same budget. All these can be found on eBay.
