Can't really knock that as a home PC. Quad core i5, win 7 and 8, decent monitor and a keyboard and mouse thrown in.

Hot!

No hdmi out

Otherwise seems bargain

It looks like the case is big enough. And if the PSU can't handle it, bronze certified 500w PSU's aren't that expensive

Although someone in the other thread mentioned the motherboards in these are not standard and do not have a 20 pin on the motherboard but a 14 pin.

According to this video (bear in mind that it is for the previous generation E72, not E73), the computer uses a standard 20 pin motherboard connector, however they are also known as the 20+4 pin connector and the extra 4 pins are used for more power delivery (which isn't that necessary when not using a discrete GPU).

In terms of PSU, the computer comes with it is a 180W PSU.
For the GTX 970, the minimum recommended wattage for a PSU is 500W. Here is the cheapest 500W 80+ certified PSU AFAIK.

Problems you could encounter are;
The new PSU and the DVD drive are very close and there is no room for movement - Solution - Remove the DVD drive. They aren't that necessary.
The GPU is too long - Change the position of the hard drive and if necessary.

That is my opinion on this situation

I just bought the E73 from Ebuyer ( http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/lenovo-i5-desktop-win8pro-win7pro-265-after-cashback-339-99-ebuyer-2072029 ).

Same base unit as this offer I believe. Mine (and others on the same thread above) actually came with a 280W 80+ Bronze PSU despite all the product literature specifying 180W. There is also a spare internal HDD bay, again contrary to the literature.

Good bit of kit for the money.

It says you have to wait 30 days before you can make the claim for cash back. That will take over the period in which you can make the claim. Or am I missing something?
#14
Simply purchase one of the qualifying products and complete the online form, providing proof of purchase after 30 days and within 60 days of the invoice date to claim your reward.

So is this the best deal around for a desktop with screen and i5?
#16
I cannot get the Cashback form to work, I choose Desktop and Monitor Bundle but everytime i get to step 6 it lets me enter the Desktop details, then when i try to enter the monitor in the drop down box below the desktop one it will not let me choose anything!!!

Tried emailing Lenovo but havent received a reply

i've finally past my 30 days to make a claim, on the claim it asks for the price of monitor & tower separately, even though they were bought as a bundle without an individual price, so do i split the price between them?

Yes went through their Facebook page, left a message and someone replied, who did some enquiries for me, i also rang them and managed to get through, i explained the problem i was having and within 3 days the claim form on the webpage was fixed, I have now received an email from them confirming receipt of my application. So just waiting for the money to be paid back into my account.

ok after having to clear cache & cookies etc because the form kept bugging, i finally got to request cashback form filled out, now i selected desktop & monitor bundle, is this correct? as my invoice only has a total price it doesn't have individual prices for monitor & desktop so what did you put as price? split it between them or put the total price for the desktop and the 0 for the monitor?

on another note i have just put the serial number of one of my towers in the claim form and updated it, now it says "The serial number inserted has already been used for another claim in our system"

so has someone defrauded them buy buying set taking serials once delivered then sent back and waited a month? i'm at a loss as to what to do now as i can't go any further with my claim.

Ok this is getting silly now.....somehow i managed to make a claim for the first bundle we bought, so then i went to fill out the form for the 2nd one we bought just on the deadline of the 31/12 well as i see on saveonlaptops didn't process the order until the 02/01 so it looks like i didn't buy the bundle until the 2nd, i have checked the bank statement and indeed the transaction on there shows the 31/12 so i'm now going to have a conflicting proof when i upload the invoice, any suggestions as these guys dont even send you a order confirmation email, well i cant find one anyway even if i look for messages from box ltd or save on laptops! shall i just go for it gah!

I choose Desktop and Monitor Bundle, choose the desktop model from the drop down list i.e 10DR000DUK, entered the serial number on the bottom of the box etc, then enter the total price paid including vat, in the second drop down box you should beable to select the monitor from the list, just put £0 for the price when i was experiencing problems with the form i did notice that it said serial number already used? in red text, so it looks like the online form has gone tits up again!!., if you still have trouble i would suggest either contacting through facebook or phoning the helpline number. Good luck

thanks, we got there in the end, indeed a very buggy form, i submitted the 1st one that was fine (altho its taken a few days as the form kept going mad) i mail lenovo on facebook 3 times now, 1st 2 re the form not working then again after save on laptops done a very naughty thing, the deal was open until the 31/12 and this is when we purchase a 2nd one, now i guess because it was new year they they didn't actually process it until the 2/1 which showed up on the invoice, so even though my bank account says the money was taken on the 31/12 (the day we actually purchased it) the invoice says otherwise and thus got rejected today, so now we've sent a message to the lenovo help team, as we have taken a screen shot of the bank statement as proof of the date we ordered, i can't believe that save on laptops had done that really, i mean they don't even send confirmation emails when you order so theres still no proof except the bank statement, do you think save on laptops would have anything to send me as proof? =(

Can you not use your Email confirmation, as this should indicate when you actually placed the order and paid?, also ive just looked at the invoice they sent in the second email and yes the date is different!. Hopefully the bank statement should list when the money was actually taken to pay for your pc!!.
