  hduk has embarrassed itself with this getting to 1000 degrees, theres something not quite right here sure its an ok lappy at a pretty ordinary price but no way is it justifying the kinda heat its getting

  
  
  Quite right - very suspicious. Retailers are taking advantage of HDUK branding and HDUK are taking advantage of retailer promotion. This linkage only fosters false representations and does bargain hunters no justice at all. Unsuspecting punters will falsely think this is a fantastic laptop deal - IT IS NOT I CAN ASSURE YOU !

  I would advise against buying any Edge series Thinkpad. I have had my E320 since December 2011 and it is starting to fall apart. Plastic is separating, HDD makes clicking noises but shows no faults, screen has odd pressure marks even though it has been taken care of well and never stood on. Hopefully Lenovo will sort this out but they are not very helpful.

  Your faults sound as if you have a one off. HDD clicking doesnt mean it will on every laptop within that series. Again E350 is different to yours so the plastics will be different....ect.

  I don't know what you do with yours, but I have had E520 since June 2011, used on average 4 hours per day every day, and it is still perfect.

  You don't have to stand on them to get pressure marks, don't appear on own! Drive - same drive could be in other laptop. Really your machine specific and not at all of any help or interest to anyone re this.

  average yes, its sub £300.... at least its not AMD, then you get a below average processor.
