I have ordered a model like this but added 4gb RAM, 64 bit Windows & Web Cam for £511 delivered. Quidco has tracked for £24.70.

The model that I have shown is cheaper but each to their own. What was odd is that upgrading the hard drive and battery brought the price down £70. Mine is now shipped and the money is taken from my account. The website has been like this for the week or so. Only found this due to the deal posted re the SL as it seems that all the professional grade are reduced by 20%. The Toshiba laptop that I bought went back, thanks Amazon.

Seems like a glitch when you add the 500GB HD, reduces the price by a fair bit but only when adding the 7200rpm one, good price though! Want to wait and check out what Intel's Sandy Bridge is made out to be like before getting a new laptop though

Top brand - the G series are the consumer ones and these are the professional series. Very high quality, metal hinges, spill proof keyboards, drop protection etc, see you tube vids.

Nice - I'm looking for a laptop with a matte screen.
it's a pity you cant customize this to include a graphics card, but if you upgrade to the core i5 it's a decent spec and still a pretty good deal.
cashback available too. (TCB says 1-5% depending on product)
5% off with AFF5%JAN brings price with core i5 4gb etc to £603

My only concern is that the battery and hard disk upgrades lowering the price might mean that they don't fulfill the order?
Delivery time 1-2 weeks

I am considering a Dell Vostro 3500 Ships Fast which you can get with core i5 +NV 310m with 3yr warranty for £554 +VAT after £70 discount code (6% cashback i think). bigger screen and only slightly heavier and comes with backlit keyboard. I would probably get this if the general quality is good.

The more expensive option for me is the HP Probook 6550b for around £800 - similar specs but I think the screen is much better. on the other hand it is a little heavier.

anyone have any experience of any of these?

Tempted but I suspect it's a glitch and they won't honour it, then causing all the grief with getting the money back etc. Might check again tomorrow and see if they have fixed it, if not then I will give it a go.

I love Lenovo and want a 14" laptop. I'm struggling to get a decent spec 14" for under £500 but this is perfect and even with a few tweaks still stays under £500.

Thanks to the OP - I just got confirmation my L412 has been shipped. I am still in shock that I have managed to bag an i3 Lenovo Thinkpad for 450 quid. Once again, thanks to the OP!

Thanks for that, I am using mine now and I love it. Took a while to ship as it went from China, Korea, Kazakhstan, Poland, Germany then East Mids but well worth the wait. The keyboard is very good and the quality is all first class. Battery life very good and I like the size of the machine.

Just try to configure one now, mine was more than 250 more, pleased it helped you.....
