Before anyone asks the following link may help to work out what games you can manage on an R9 M380 (select the game you want to consider playing in the top right and then click 'restrict' to get the results.

For anyone after a review the following link gives an idea of what this machine is like, plenty of decent quality pictures. Only things to note are that it's for a more expensive/powerful variant.

OP you missed some of the most important features of this machine which actually make it a pretty reasonable deal in my book. I'll update the posting shortly.

Might want to add in that it's touch enabled screen as well.

I was about to buy this, however when I checked the lenovo website for current models none of them have the r9 m380.

I was kinda foolish to believe that a laptop this price would have the r9 m380. Its comparable to a gtx 960m.

No it's not. You're thinking of the M390 which is very much comparable to the 960m and a whole heap more expensive. The M380 is more like a 945m in terms of performance and not a million miles from a 950m. Not blistering, but not slow either.

The Lenovo store site not showing that it's got a dedicated graphics card is nothing unusual. There are plenty of reviews of this model that confirm (with pictures that the dedicated graphics models do exist).

Yeah, im a little out of touch at the moment. I cant be that hard to copy the specs off the box onto the Currys website.

I m in the market for a new laptop and went to Currys to see this laptop. The screen is sharp and its 'relatively' light but the plastic body didnt feel too solid. May be ok at this price point but there are some other cheaper laptops out there with a better chasis (e.g. Asus E403).

Sorry to disappoint, but this is a listing error on the Currys website. I know this because I have seen it in store, and the spec sheet lists the dedicated graphics as an r5 m430 or some such.

I actually bought the slightly more expensive i7 version of this exact laptop last week. That was priced at £750 with the R9 M380. I did think to myself it was too good to be true but I bought it anyway. There is nowhere on the exterior packaging that discloses the model of graphics card. naturally, the first thing I did when I got it home is go to device manager, and there was the much weaker R5 M430 listed.

I've bought a Yoga 700 instead, which has a 940m - still a bit pants, but about the best you're going to get in a convertible laptop at the moment.

Just one thing. These DO NOT have an R9 chipset. I spent over an hour in my local PCs world trying to get to the bottom on it and it has an r5 chipset. With ddr3 ram NOT the stated ddr4. Take warning if you've bought one check the specs.

I rang PCs world on Sunday who said oh really have 10% off any laptop. However. As on now Tuesday evening it's still on the website as an R9 machine. Shocking
