A saving of £400 according to the John Lewis website.

I've been after a mid-range 2 in 1 laptop for a while, and have been looking at the Yoga 710 and Asus Zenbook flip. Yoga 710 currently £769 @ currys, with a slightly better processor, but bigger, heavier, and FHD instead of QHD display.

My decision this morning was between this and the deal @ Dell for the inspiron 13 5000 for £450:
http://m.dell.com/mt/www.dell.com/uk/p/inspiron-13-5378-2-in-1-laptop/pd?oc=cn53705&model_id=inspiron-13-5378-2-in-1-laptop

Anyone after a cheaper option, who's not bothered about the size, weight or resolution should take a look (it compares to the Yoga 710, but £300 cheaper!).

This is my first post, and a bit rushed, but hopefully helps someone!

Great deal.

Is this much different to the yoga 710?

I've just compared the spec and the 710 actually seems an allnround better machine but i assume i'm missing something..

It's slightly thinner, weighs about .25kg lighter (doesn't sound like much!), and has a higher screen resolution. The 710 does have a slightly better processor though.

Forget the Dell I just tried it and all the 250 off codes are gone! Only 12% off now taking it to about £615 and not £450 gutted as I was about to order it!

I had the same dilemma than the OP, I was between the Yoga 710 and the inspiron 13 but last night I was randomly on the John Lewis website and I saw the Yoga 900 down by 400 pounds. I've been looking for weeks and I never seen it cheaper anywhere than £1000!. So I bought it :) Very happy as it is a much better looking\ lighter\premium laptop than the other two! Plus it comes with 3 years warranty!
#7
Honestly great price, 3 year Warranty is a huge bonus but like others, struggling between this and the Yoga 710, which has an i7 model available. It's slightly more power, but I think it'll prove useful. The QHD screen here also seems a bit unnecessary, had some issues with Windows in the past not displaying content ideally due to high resolutions. Don't know if it still persists though.

Of course, the 710 shows no signs of going on sale though, Lenovo actually updated them with the 7th gen Intel processors but they only seem available directly from Lenovo and I wouldn't order from them again

Just ordered. Been looking for a good price for this laptop for a while. Shame the 910 isn't out yet. :|

Decided to go for this. Has the best reviews and a better build quality for similarly specked/priced models.
#12

They are both the same cpu? Obviously this one has a better spec screen, bigger HDD, lighter kg, more memory. The 710 is edge to edge screen, so less border at sides (which the 910 will have when released).

The John Lewis one is obviously overall better (if you like the colour), but is at a cost of £178 more if you can get the 10% off at very.

I can't decide between this and the Microsoft Surface 4 Pro! Can anyone help me decide?

I have this machine but in the i7 version. It is wonderful. I upgraded from the Surface Pro and this machine is everything that machine was and more. The single USB port on the Surface Pro was always an issue. This device has 3 x USB ports plus a USB-C port plus SD card slot. The screen is gorgeous pin sharp and near 4K. I use it mainly as a tablet but the keyboard is quality to type on and back lit when needed.

I would buy this machine straight away if it wasn't in such a ghastly colour!!!

One more thing. Mine was gifted to me this summer so I had no receipt. It ended up devloping a fault with the charger. I rang up Lenovo and they were an absolute delight. They registered the device, set up a one year warranty, sent me postage labels, fixed this issue and returned it better than new.

I just thought I'd share my experience of the device and the manufacturer.

Has anyone seen this anywhere else for the same sale price but in one of the other colours?

My head's completely melted- I don't know which Lenovo yoga is the best deal, the newest, the most power and the best memory- I keep changing my mind! It's all so confusing oO. And they're not cheap so I want to make sure I get the right one! Arghhh

You're not alone. Every time I think I've settled and made a decision, something nags me the other way. There's this, the 710 and someone's just put up the Asus Zenbook flip at Amazon now. I think the 900 does have the best build quality though, makes the 710 look tacky in comparison.

Read some bad things about 710 fan noise - might be worth a look on the Lenovo customer support forums

Pretty much word for word what i would have typed. Also saw this last night. It is the colour that puts me off but only a little. I thought this would have been OOS by now. Sorely tempted after the dross i have seen online today (apart from the Surface Pro). I really want something easy and lightweight to use and something that will OK perched on my lap when required Surface just doesn't fit the bill for that i don't think.

Reviews on the Yoga do good for a capable bit of well made kit.

Hovering over the buy button - just need to convince the wife.......

Ive looked at so many laptops today! is this Champagne Colour or Clementine? it doesn't seem to say anywhere.
Now torn between this and the Asus Zen book flip

It's the champagne colour. I'm undecided on the aesthetics but the specs are solid.
#25
Yeah I was confused on the colour too until I added it to my basket and the colour was added to the description.

I (personally) think the clementine colour is quite nice . But the champagne... just not a fan. Shame - would be the deal of the weekend for me if it wasn't for the colour.

Read any reviews on the zen book flip? Colour aside, id suggest the Lenovo 900 is the superior laptop, especially at this price

I would not go for this one, only 4Gb of Ram. If you are planning to keep this laptop for a fair few years (I've been keeping mine in the past for up to 4 years) I would take one with at least 8Gb of Ram. The HDD is less of an issue as it can be upgraded.
As for the color, I must admit it was my biggest reservation! Clementine, YeaH! Champagne gold.... not so much :/ Oh well we will see :)
The screen resolution is also a bit of an issue for me (far to fine for its size)... hope windows 10 deals with it appropriately!

I've been looking for weeks, if you are in the market for such laptop only the Hp spectre 13 would top the Yoga 900. The Hp is very nice, I've seen it but it is dear!!!!

Someone actually posted the Spectre for £100 more than this, but it is at Very who aren't really the best retailer. You'll lose out on a 3 year warranty too..
http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/hp-spectre-x360-13-i5-processor-8gb-ram-256gb-ssd-799-very-2555724

Still, seems a decent deal though when it comes down to it, the specs are pretty similar. Surprised neither that or this haven't gained more heat. I do have the same concern as you regarding the screen res though, becomes useless if programs can't scale to it well. Had an issue like that on a Laptop I purchased before, was far from ideal.

Anyone happen to know anything about performance? Will the 710 with it's i7 and DDR4 RAM be much better than this with it's i5 and DDR3? Looking at comparisons online seem to be useless since everyone has different configurations of the Yoga's.

lost out on the Dell 'save250' yesterday. got the code and applied, but wouldn't accept credit card payment. CC company said nothing wrong with the card so dell just swamped or being sneaky...

Actually happier now have bought this, so thanks OP. Thought we were the only ones wrangling with the Dell vs yoga 510 (currys price increased for BF) vs 710, so picking up this for similar cash suits us.

plus JL v good at refunds if we change our mind in the next week!
#31
went for this in the end. Hoping the colour wont be that bad but really don't overly care.

Picking it up tomorrow from our local JL.

I think this is the hidden gen on BF this year. Cannot believe it hasn't achieved more heat!

Anyone know if the warranty is the same as the extra warranty you can buy? Does it cover accidental damage?
Went to currys this morning and decided that I want a light weight one. They didn't have this but did have a hp spectre which was really light and they don't seem much different in weight.
I did have a go at the surgace pro and it really is between the two now. Did have the Asus 2in1 but the zenbooks were also nice!

Currys customer service isn't very good. John Lewis usually provides excellent customer service.

Thanks OP! Bought this yesterday.

Will report back when it arrives.

Ideally want a top line surface 4, but hope this will impress at a third of the price!

Picked mine up earlier. Setting it up now.

Well impressed so far. Super light but feels really sturdy. Hinge is a work of art and works well. Screen is really sharp and the fan doesn't seem as loud as some negative reviews I have read. In fact it is very quiet indeed.

As for the colour it is really quite nice and gives it a classy feel. So glad I went for this over the Surface (as good as the surface is)

Yup. They're actually due more in this week apparently, but I reckon it's for when they're putting prices up again.
