One of the best films this year if you ask me. Part of the Play fiver deal, but deserves to be singled out.

Certainly the cheapest I can find - most high street stores have this around the £8 mark

Rather overrated but definitely worth a watch. Good price too.

Excellent film, best vampire film for years. Much better than that teenage twilight crap

Very overrated - but visually beautiful.

Fantastic film.

Wonderful book.

It's not very often that a film truly mimics almost every aspect of the book from which it was derived, however this film does a fabulous job of it. I bought this last week for £5.99, however I had £5.02 in vouchers, so it only cost me 97p! :p

Highly recommended!

Seriously, one of the best films I've ever seen. So, so good.

Fantastic film if you don't mind watching foreign language. Its in Swedish. The cinematography is awesome.

The book is even better than the film. Its only £3.99 from Amazon:

I don't think this is overrated at all, it deserves all the praise it gets.

Maybe the people who think it is overrated were after something more gory and run of the mill rather than this refreshing twist on the vampire genre.

a great film if you like falling asleep with the telly on - this is a guaranteed snoozefest.

was really looking forward to it, but it turned out to be the most boring film I've ever seen. As for scares or horror - forget it, there isn't any. zzzzzzzzzz......

Does the dvd have subtitles? I hated watching the dubbed version it made me cringe, bad child actors with terrible dubbing spoilt it for me and yes it is abit non-atmospheric. Boring.

Thats your mistake, its not a Horror film. Its about an unusual friendship that turns the standard story upside down, its about the boy becoming more like the vampire then the vampire becoming more human.

I managed to get my copy of the book around 8 months ago for £2 exactly, brand new, in hardback - how good a deal was that? But the story itself is definitely worth up to £5 anyway as it is a truly magnificent read!

For those of you who are looking for loads of gore and screams, then this may not be the film for you but if you would like to see a wonderfully-sculpted film, brilliant acting from the child stars and become indulged in a brilliant story of love, friendship, honour and trust, then this is the film for you! Please also note that this is quite unlike any other vampire film and that it is also not your typical love/friendship story, either - the author, John Ajvide Lindqvist, provides us with a wonderful 'twist' on how this genre of story is put across.

Once again, highly recommended, and at a fiver, it won't be a massive waste of money if you don't enjoy it (which is difficult)!
