Just been in Milton Keynes Levi's not expecting to buy anything becuase of the high prices, however they currently have a sale. I brought a pair of jeans usually £90 for £27. A shirt ususally £55 for £16 and a belt usually £28 for £8. Althogether I saved £122, which I thought was pretty good. Not sure how the deals vary from shop to shop.

Levi's web site seems to be the best price I can get black 501's at the moment £54, debenhams is charging £67.

So hot for me.

Site to complicated and can't be bothered to search about.

Hot prices, shame they don't have the same prices as Florida though ...... $15 for a pair of jeans.

And you ask me why my suitcase was 48kg (max limit 25kg) by the end of the holiday? lol

£90 for a pair of jeans??????
The words born, one , their's and every minute come to mind!!
What are the chances, some small child or woman in China is paid about 5op each to make them?

Altogether you spent £51, unless you were planning on buying all of those items at their original prices, of course :)

Still, good prices, hot deal! Might pop into the recently-opened Carnaby Street store tomorrow and see if there's anything worth getting... Levi's aren't my favourite jeans as I find that they fade quickly and I prefer darker washes; I've a pair of dark indigo ones that went noticeably purple :)

Not a fan of levi's either... don't tend to leave enough room for the VIP area.

Given that both of the pairs I have were made in Poland, I'd say fairly slim :)

Still, if I were spending £90 on a pair of jeans (which I don't, as I know how to shop around), I'd rather buy Seven for all Mankind or Paul Smith (or Howies if I'm feeling super-ethical about it) or something, nicer than Levi's.

Not here! :)
Shops in the UK charge ridiculous money for them, never seen them for less than £155 here (but then I rarely see them at all here!)

I picked up a pair in Filene's Basement in Bethesda, MD in 2007 for $99, which was about £55 at the time. I got another pair in Filene's in Union Square, NYC for $99 last year too, but the rate wasn't quite so kind to me then, probably about £70. My brother also bought me a pair in Bloomingdale's, but paid something like $220 for them...

Filene's is always my first stop whenever I go shopping in the US, it's like TK Maxx, only they sell clothes that you might actually want to buy :)

such a rip off. whatever, it may be a good deal for levis but over £30 for designer jeans is ridiculous let alone £60's.

501's at Costco are usually around the 35 pound mark.

makes me feel happiest when i get decent clothes for bargain prices. while u were spending that much in the states i got some calvin klein jeans for £15, 501s for £15, nautica jeans for £13..
its a lovely feeling to be driving a bmw having paid less than some people pay for a volvo.

Indeed. Also, they're handmade made in the US, so the people making them are likely to be paid reasonably (though I doubt the denim is made in the US...)

Still, it's like anything really, when you approach the high-end of the market, you don't get much more for the additional outlay. If you buy an £500 graphics card for your PC instead of a £250, you get a few more fps but the cost is disproportionately higher; you certainly don't get twice as many fps. If you spend £5,000 on a hifi instead of £1,000, you get better sound, but not five times better. If you spend £100 on a pair of jeans, they'll be nicer than a £25 pair, but not four times nicer...

It comes down to whether or not you're prepared to spend the extra, and little else. There's no point trying to justify or rationalise it... I liked them, I could afford them, and so I bought them :)

I refuse to buy Levis because of this - they used to be made here in dundee until the factory got shut down. I had a few relatives who worked there and when they had sale days you got a pair for 7 quid so I'll deffo not be paying 70 when I've got less reason to trust the quality.

Might be worth checking your local store, went into the one in brighton and the jeans were down from £90 to £25, shirts £13, jackets 75% off.
