Ok,
When buying a printer, they have become almost throw away. Make sure you look at the size of the cartridge (weight/ml of ink in each cartridge) and the replacement costs for the cartridge. Avoid all in one cartridges as you will use more black than other colours.

It's an absolute con. Most printers come with just about enough ink to limp out of the door. Never ever go on the price of the printer. Always look at the consumable costs and how, most importantly, they have separate cartridges.

yep - lexmark printers are cheap, lexmark ink is expensive, compatible lexmark ink cartridges rarer than hen's teeth.

buy the printer then sling it when it runs out of ink, ink cost more than the printer.

or buy a canon / epson for about £40 or £50 and get compatible ink cartridges for about £2.50 online. Much cheaper than buying a £30 printer every time you need a new cartridge ;-)

Well at least the toothbrush is a good offer.

It's a good price for the printer :) I'm more surprised that it's being sold in SuperDrug :o But as above, it's cartridge costs that damp the offer down.

Thanks for the pointer though!

Where can I buy a canon/epson printer and the corresponding compatible ink catridges?

you can buy the printer from loads of places, the ink cartridges can be bought cheaply from ebay. There are also other online ink retailers but having not used them for over 2 years now I cant remember the address.

Just type in compatible ink cartridge into google and you should get some good options.
