Can't find this in a search but my bargain buy Dell 924 has just run out of ink so it's cheaper to buy this new printer than new ink.

New lexmark ink cartridges will be very very expensive (I've never discovered any compatibles) and will cost about as much as this printer.

IMHO better to buy a ~£50ish canon / epson printer, and get compatible ink cartridges for a couple of quid.

Therefore voted cold :(

what about the brother printer from argos? how do they fare in way of replacement inks? cheaper than lexmark? more expensive than epsom?

Lexmark can't be bothered to update Vista drivers for their old printers; do not expect any support or drivers for the printer in a couple of years time but I guess at some £30 you can play their game and upgrade every couple of years to a new printer.

Lexmark never seem to do very well in comparative magazine reviews. Poor printing and expensive inks.

Best to buy HP, Canon or Epson; like others have said.

Thanks for this :)

We have a lexmark we bought last year and so far its running ok on ink, we are about to put the second refill in and they are costing £12.00 less quidco. This seems to compare reasonably with other printers.

£12 compared with around £3 (compatibles for epson / canon).
