i thought this was a good deal, has good reviews and not bad for 3 in 1 at this price. thoughts?
banned#2
printer is probably ok as lexmark sell them at a loss. They just make extortionate amounts from the price of their ink.
#3
why is this so cold, i thought it was pretty decent, would atleast like to know why its not a great deal

its a lexmark. Enough said really.
#5
ok, quickly browsing this site i have found out lexmark is not popular, is it just the ink costing too much?
#6
agreed
#7
yes lexmark never seem to go down well here, like csiman says its more than likley a good printer but it is the cost of the ink that put so many folks off ! i would not own one but thats just my option
#8
If Lexmark made weapons the ammo would be more expensive than the gun!
#9
i find it the same with laser printers ! i would love one as they have come down alot in price but the running costs are just not worth it at the moment, i always check what price i can get the inks for before i buy a new printer

I've not ever had a Brother tbh, but a quick google turned this up.

Brother ! Hmm, to be honest with you KKzs i don't know that much about this printer, do you really need a fax on your printer? if so have a good look around at the reviews, i see the 2 reviews on Amazon are mixed so best to do a little bit more research, might also be worth checking places like sharkink or 247 ink just to see how much the cost of the ink will be, if you are a heavy user or have kids who will be printing out lots of pictures then finding a cheap supply of ink is important otherwise if it a printer you are only going to use for photos every now and then and don't mind paying the extra for the ink...well that leads us straight to the beginning again which is read the reviews, it better to judge by other who have used it instead of making you decision based on the manufacturer or sellers information because at the end of the day they just want your money.

the reviews for the lexxmark were good as well, until i found out about the ink!

i take it with brother its easy to replace the cartridges at a good cost?
#14
i am a bit of a noob, how long can i expect the lexmark to last me with the ink?

the reviews for lexmark were good, i looked around, it seems the ink issue is the big one, just how bad is lexmark and how cheap is it with brother?

Actually I have the brother hl-2030 and the cartridge costs about £30. Estimated to print around 5-10,000 pages per cartridge. Saves me a fortune.

I had a lexmark and I was lucky to get 50 pages from one black cart (about £15 each)! :w00t:

Just set the print quality to draft for every day use- it's still plenty good enough. I just use best quality for any prints I do. Carts last a good 3 months and I work from home & print shedloads. Mine is the X4580 that I bought in the online sale December 07. From memory, I think I've used 3 black carts and on my 4th colour as I had a load of phot's to print onto Kodak photo paper

if there is no stock in argos near you then THIS may be a better deal.
