Was bored going through my quidco transactions, and found a link to eletrical price crach at tesco, 4 pages of browsing, found this..thought it might be interesting to someone. I don't really need a printer at the moment, so I'd rather wait for an epson.

Thanks

btw: collection from store is free
someone has to check this:
£120 worth of ink vouchers included!

Ink replacement for Lexmarks is amoungst the dearest of any make. Lexmark replacement cartridges (not compatables) for this printer cost more than the printer itself. Cold, cold, cold.

Seconded.
Though I haven't voted cold as you've posted in good faith - but having had a Lexmark before, I simply wouldn't buy one again because of the replacement cartridges cost...extortionate.

The key to a good printer deal is getting one that prints at reasonable quality at reasonable speed but allow the ink cart to be easily refilled by yourself or remanufactured / third party replacement cart to be easily and cheaply available.

Epson and many of the newer models of similar brands now have chips that makes it difficult to refill yourself. The older models are actually better as the newer one have more sophisticated chips that are harder to bypass from what I heard.

I had an old HP officejet 5610 that was really easy to rechip with a simple trick. Not sure about the newer models if anybody can give more advice.

Cold as Lexmark original cartridges are so expensive and the current printer cartridges have serial numbers in them which the printer remembers.

So once a cartridge is declared empty by the printer on estimated ( not actual) ink usage, it will not let you use it even if you refil it , and it also recognises re-manufactured cartridges as " Not Lexmark ink" in a further move to force you to get Lexmark expensive ones" Avoid cos thats why the printer is cheap ( Polaroid sales methods apply):x:x

For what its worth i bought this printer and so far am very imperessed. Will probably order another 6 @ this price and then re-sell them on ebay (minus the inks) for similar money
