I watched QVC for a bit last night and they were touting some Lexmark all in one. I just can't believe the presenters/guests on there could rip people off and not feel guilty about it (same goes for bid/price drop etc). This is a brilliant price even WITHOUT the FREE £19 extra cartridge we include with this printer. Yada, yada.... God I hate QVC lol.

Off topic I know, but you really ARE better off paying more for a printer with cheaper consumables...

USB Interface No
.. WTF? PMSL!

I totally agree - buy a Canon or an Epsom.

Added to the fact that the carts for Lexmarks are extortionate is the point that the carts that come with the printer are the reduced capacity type, i.e. they are only half full.

For anyone interested in this, it does have a USB interface

I've been converted to Brother because of all the freebies they offer, but wouldn't bin my Canon i550x. Had it years and STILL on the original set of cartridges. They've been refilled about 20 times!

Yeh, I used to do that with my old Lexmark all-in-one but it's too messy. Now I run a epsom 220 and got a boxfull of compatable carts from SVP when google checkout was running.

I must admit it can get messy but I hardly ever have to refill mine and as they use the seperate bci/3e tanks (with a bloody hooge black tank) its a lot easier than the tri carts in lexmark/hp printers.

Same goes for the Brother, 4 seperate tanks and not a chip in sight. Lovely :)

yep - totally agree. Wouldnt touch any lexmark again as they make a loss on the printers to recoup vast profits on the cartridges. There quoted print speeds are a complete joke. 15 PPM is more like 1-2 pages per minute at best. I printed 8 pages of colour using a full x1180 cartridge and it was empty so worked out at around £2 per page!
