Its £599 (£100 discounted) plus another (5%) £30 discount if you use the code DEC14

John lewis selling for £719 and refused to price match. I have been looking for a black washing machine. Hard to get a Miele or Bosch in black for a good price with good drum size plus 5 year parts and labour warranty.

Lots of Beko, Hotpoints and Indiset but not the other premium brands. I think this will be the best buy if you are looking for black. A few years ago this used to retail for £1200+ on John Lewis and was in the Guardian top 10 washing machines

John lewis price match is a con as they will only price match when it suits them manipulating their terms and conditions to get out of price matching I've been turned down on four occasions two times I was pushing my luck but two times I was absolutely sure they would but refused.
#7
First read of that I thought they were selling a washing machine weighing 11kg - had to come back and check :)

I can't see how JLP can refuse price match. Marks Electrical is a very large well presented showroom just up the road from their Leicester store.
#9
Seems a decent machine but unless I'm misunderstanding being 64cm deep excluding pipe work etc wouldn't this sit around 10cm out under standard sized worktops?

They won't price match Internet sites that have showrooms, only highstreet stores. There have been occasions when they have, but its a bit hit and miss and usually down to local stores not following their own T&C's.

They refused on that basis. They price match on HIGH STREET RETAILERS and this shop has one store. I only wanted JL as never heard of Marks... and was not sure if they were real. order for Jan though!

Their TVs are excellent though, so don't dismiss them completely.

I found that happened to me when I used a cleaner with bleach spray in it (which I won't do again with a microwave)! Not saying that's what happened in your case but just sayin'.

LG good machines our 7kg is 12 years old & only just needs shock absorbers for the drum which is no disgrace whatsoever

We've had our LG for 10 years and still going strong. It's also direct drive rather than using a belt.
#19
Right... Had this previously and had major issues with it. We bought ours for £899 around 3 years ago.

There are some internal bits at the back it the drum which are made of plastic instead of metal. The engineer said there were so many call outs and write offs that he'd lost count.

Personally - for the price and guarantee i'd be tempted... Purely for the 11kg drum.... Which was hard to move away from - heres hoping they fixed the design fault!

Did you tell JL that you saw it instore and the link is for indication only showing the same price. I got rejected recently. I was confused, so replied to the rejection email stating hard facts, and they price matched. I didn't even bother buying from them in the end.

no need. I only wanted to buy from JL for their reputation as I know the warranty would be with LG. However after looking at the Marks Website and pictures I was convinced they were real as opposed to some fancy site that later goes bankrupt after you place an order. Also was surprised they were £100 or so less PLUS gave an additional £30 discount Inc delivery!

Bought the steam version earlier this year with £50 cashback from ao.com. The 11kg drum is excellent because theres more room, so you get a better wash. It weighs the load each time and adjusts the water and programme time accordingly.
#23
I use a n LG washer and love it.Direct drive is so quiet and I've been impressed so far.Quality is excellent and would defo buy another in the future.

Indeed, they are living off of their old great reputation, they have gone rapidly downhill in recent times, they are now worse than most online sellers IMO
#25
I went with LG in the end!

LG F14A7FDSA6 TrueSteam™ Washing Machine, 9kg Load, A+++ Energy Rating, 1400rpm Spin, Black

John lewis: £669
RGBDirect - store price - £549

John lewis price matched it!

It's a different model to the one OP posted... uses steam to clean clothes.

the more customers you have the more likely it is you will upset someone.. laws of statistics. I've never had a problem with JL... I say this ... lets see what happens with my washing machine order lol.

Will let you know.. about to place the order online.

I purchased at this price, with the £20 discount. Delivered and is amazing, £140 cheaper than john Lewis. Checked today and price now £689! Think must have been a mistake...
