If you're looking for a portable LCD TV that's HD Ready, then you need look no further than the LG 19LS4R.

This stylish TV is the smallest HD Ready TV we've stocked to date, and has a picture quality way beyond that of other LCD televisions this size. Thanks to the HDMI interface and high resolution screen, the 19LS4R bristles with detail and has a stunning sense of realism - impressions backed up by the exceptional contrast ratio of 3000:1.

LG have also realised that many TVs of this size are used as computer or games console monitors. With this in mind, the 19LS4R boasts a dedicated PC input and an exceptionally fast response time of 5ms - faster than a great many dedicated computer monitors.

Other great features from this classy 19 inch LCD TV include component and S-Video inputs, an easy to use menu system, cable management system and built-in stand. Add in the smart, hi-tech styling and this is clearly one portable that's a cut above the rest.

Was looking at this TV the other day. Supposed to be a good screen but the sound quality is apparently very bad. Good price though.

there are 19 inch's with DVD and/or freeview for the same price.

With the same quality screen? Post a link please.

Not digital, you'll be buying obsolescence.

Just add a freeview box. Hey presto....there's your digital signal!
#5
Good specs on the display, but i wouldn't go for an LCD TV that doesnt have digital.
#6
indeed, I don't know why people are obsessed with built in freeview.
#7
Wish they all didn't build freeview in, so I don't have to pay for something I won't use.
#8
whats the big deal about not having freeview built in, doesn't everyone have sky multiroom?
my dad bought one from comet at £179 @ Christmas, really nice tv compared to the other sub £200 LCD TVs Matsui / Swisstec / UMC from currys/comet etc etc

the same tv with freeview (19LS4D)is comparatively over priced at about £220
saying that Argos have the 19LS4R at £249 !!

how anyone can say the tv is obsolete is plain daft and typical of the distorted views seen on HUKD
ok so it only has 1 scart (for sky) and 1 hdmi (for your upscaling dvd) but for £149 that a bargain

Soon you'll be forced to use digital, as the analogue signals are switched off

From DigitalUK:-
"The process of digital switchover will take place between 2008 and 2012, TV region by TV region. The exception is Whitehaven, Cumbria, which becomes the first place to switch in October 2007. "

Very soon a non digital LCD or Plasma will be as obsolete as a CRT and you'll be able to buy them cheaply as obsolete stock.

But if you've already got a digi box why would ya need a TV with built-in digital :?::?:

Why why so much fuss about a digital receiver each time a deal gets posted for a TV without one.

Yes its far easier and neater having a built in tuner but for £20-30 you can buy a separate one and move it between different Tvs.
Also many on here surely have Sky or Cable television that use their own Digi boxes to convert the signal so the built in receivers would be redundant anyway and you have gone and paid a 20-30% premium for the pleasure.

Finally with the built in receiver you only receive upto 60 freeview channels whereas Sky free sat you can get over 200 with any tv.

Just buy an amp and split the incoming signal to each room off the dish, job done.

Back to the deal........Not bad at all for a decent LG panel

Exactly and not to mention it would also make it heavier, you are paying for the bulk you don't want.

I think some people need to understand the digital switchover and how it is going to affect old tv's. You do not need a digital TV for the switchover. If you have an old CRT or a non-digital panel then all you need is a digibox.

IT'S THAT SIMPLE!
#15
I dont use SKY, so i personally wouldn't buy a TV without Freeview. Also the nearer it gets to the digital switchover, these non digital TVs will be cheap as chips.
As this deal hasn't got very hot, i think it confirms that most people want a digital TV, and not one without freeview.

freeview box

£10.00 sainsburys instore

bobs ya uncle

As much as you keep banging on about... You can buy a freeview box... Or.. It doesn't matter if you have sky.
Most people want an LCD TV to be DIGITAL...

And as the deal is still at a dismal 45 degees.... I think i rest my case.
