You're missing the point... Can you purchase THIS item at THIS price again? It is the cheapest in its class, its next rival is £285.

Find me an ultrawide monitor which is 1080p newly released and supports a display port and hdmi cheaper than this. Which isn't ugly and with a good brand....
haha good luck trying to convince people how HUKD works, it seems to be getting worse with people comparing second to new and voting cold based on a fictional price they heard about from a friend of a friend in a pub, that owned a TARDIS.

The reason it's being voted cold is because you can get a 27inch for less.
#3
Nice price - but at 25" and double width, it actually means it's a tiny screen.

looks good for the money, how does the split screen work? I was looking at getting 2 monitors to do dual screen for software development work.

Via downloading a screen splitting software I believe: http://screen-split.software.informer.com/download/

But that would only be 1080p, not the higher resolution this supports. You cannot compare the two, hot deal op.

I'd rather have one of these than 2 or 3 monitors, especially for gaming or watching 2.35:1 video content.

Unfortunately people are voting for other reasons it seems. I too think this should be hot unless someone finds it cheaper

Polly69 did not compare the two.

It is 1080p.

Hot deal OP.

Whereas this is 1080p ;) but I get what you're on about.

The thing to bear in mind with these ultra-wides is that although 25" sounds big enough, the physical size means it's probably like a really wide 19/20" monitor which I'd personally find a bit too small. Like I said, not knocking the deal, just something to bear in mind.

Another really good monitor deal, if you don't mind something ugly...

Researched into it. When you connect a pc or laptop to this monitor. It automatically detects this monitor as 2 screens or the 1. Up to your own preference, that simple. You can then choose the 2 screen option and enjoy... :)

would look good on top of my 2560x1440 I imagine they have same pixel density..

Sadly I cannot justify the spend atm :./

Some people here clearly just don't 'need' this kind of monitor so they vote down for not understanding where it could come in handy, this is a very nice price and I feel like it might just be one of those things that 'developers' and the like would find more useful than the 'average' user on this site.

Heat added from me because you can't get this type of monitor for less from what I've seen, this would help any web developers significantly! and likely most programers in general in my opinion.

The one question I would have is, would you be able to use this as well as another standard monitor, because most graphics cards (not all) only support up to two displays at once and someone here has commented that it will act as two screens. If you can use it with another monitor as well without having to have a more "top of the line" graphics card then this would be an amazing purchase! If not it would still be a great buy for the right person.

Well that's just my two cents anyway... Thanks for sharing!!

Excellent monitor, but a lot of newer games don't support 21:9 ratio natively.

Main reason I'm selling mine, movies on it are amazing though.

'Beautiful monitor' - it's a piece of cheap moulded plastic, get a grip.
#23
Same price at ocuk. I was looking at this monitor myself but I was put off by is physical vertical height. Everyone that has reviewed it has said it's too short.

Voted hot regardless because it's a good price.

Im not missing the point ive been building PC's since the 90's and i know its a decent monitor at a decent price ive been looking at the QHD 27" ones. What i was saying is the OP wanted to know why people were voting cold so i tried to explain most people on here see a 25" monitor at £170 and know that they can get a bigger 27" for the same or less. Thats not my personal opinion i like it and know the price is good.

I understand, sorry for the misunderstanding. You're right, they automatically would compare this to 720p monitors which are larger and possibly cheaper.

Been looking to purchase this for the past week , just waited for a miracle even further price drop . But i think its time to grab it . BTW it sells for the same price on overclockers ( thats where im getting mine , as they have a shop in my area )
As for use , i consider that to be a perfect low price fix for all the online poker players who been struggling with table overlap whilst multitabling =) HOT

Double width ?

16:9 vs 21:9

16 x 2 = 21 ????? nice

or did you

16 x 2 = swap 6 for 2 = 12 x 6, then swap around 1 and 2 = 21 x 6, then remove x 6 = 21.. Works!

Anyone buying a 25" ultra-wide monitor should first make a mock-up with card using the actual dimensions. It think you will find it surprisingly small.

I went from a 24" conventional widescreen monitor to a 29" ultra-wide and it 'feels' smaller, although it sounds bigger.

"This has a resolution of 2560 x 1080 so is NOT 1080P hence why the price is good."

What the hell are you chatting? 1920x1080 = 1080p | 2560x1080 also is 1080p

Okay, Okay, I made a mistake by saying double! :) You all know what I was getting at though. It's still a tiny screen, because of the height of the thing, since the 25" is still the diagonal (hypotenuse) on it. Just because I had been awake for 27 hours and said something stupid, doesn't stop it from being a tiny screen! :)

1080p = 1080 horizontal lines + progressive scan.

This monitor also has 1080 horizontal lines...
