Next cheapest is Asda @ £240 I picked the last one up in Alton today for my sons XBOX but more to be delivered this week - unsure if it's store specific but not showing online.
Remember those Nectar points people, I used mine up and got it for £204.99, seemed a good deal to me.

not 1080p though? :(

1080p on 26" is overkill... unless you sit <1 metre away!!
would prob say bravia offer is better for a little extra:

Seeing as how the screen is only 26", I doubt it would matter.
Unless you're gonna double it up as a PC monitor.

NO FREEVIEW HD BUILT IN so all old stock will be cheap

I have this at home and also a 1080p samsung 22". The picture is better on this 26" one as it is 720p so doesn't have to stretch low res freeview all the way up to full HD.

I use the 1080p one as a PC monitor too hence the resolution, but if you just want one for TV then 720p is more than fine, especially on a 26". Sitting back on the sofa normal DVDs look Bluray like anyway. Close up you can see the difference, but 26" is too small for full HD in a living room to notice a real difference. The guide is also better than on my 22" Samsung and doesn't suffer from backlight bleeding either like the samsung badly does.

No freeview HD but given it's 26" the SD freeview looks crisp at range anyway. I could see the point on a 32" plus though.

As far as I'm aware there aren't any 26 inch freeview HD sets in the immediate pipeline from the major manufacturers. Good deals on bigger sets which will be getting replaced with freeview HD is probably what's going to drive down prices on smaller sets too.

...Do you think that tv prices will be even cheaper once the world cup is over though?
#14
this tv can also be turned into a media player

It is the future, but if you are looking for this size in the short term (like I am) theres not going to be anything to buy for a while yet, unless you can point me to someone producing 26 inch Freeview HD sets?

If it was for your sons xbox you should have got a monitor not a TV... much better picture quality IMO, considering this is 720p. You can get 26'' 1080p monitors for about this price.

3 hd channels and partial coverage. totally pontless and over priced getting freeview hd now. if you want hd get sky or freesat even.
#19
death is also the future for us all !!

do you want it now , or in the future ,

currently freesat is the best , and if you have a HUMAX box BBCi player is fantastic !!

FREESAT is n01 , AT THE MOMENT !!!!

I've just bought one.

It's really good quality. Great for the PS3 call of duty. (HDMI)
