Great price for an LG.

:( just bought a 22" LG from Richer Sounds for £299. Think i may need to pack it up and return it tomorrow!

Excellent price. If this is anything like the LG that i got, it really does look good and was a doddle to set up.

Shame no pc input, would have bought it otherwise.still good deal

Amazon.co.uk says it has an RGB pc input, which is nice.

You beat me to it^
#8
Can't really convert VGA to HDMI, since VGA is analogue and HDMI is digital. To do this would require analogue to digital conversion and be super-expensive.

However, most PC gfx-cards have DVI-D output now, which can be converted to HDMI easily and cheaply. Cables are pretty cheap now:

http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html?rb=0&action=c2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X3Jldmlld3M=&product_uid=88442

It's £3.99 + delivery.

not too sure if this is it?:
1 x component video input ( RCA phono x 3 ) - rear
1 x composite video/audio input ( RCA phono x 3 ) - rear
good price though
#12
1 x component...thats right amansk... (for the 360)

composite is the rubbish yellow cable, dont ever use that unless you have no choice
#13
For the normal Xbox 360 you need Componet, the new ones will have HDMI

ok, so this may be a good choice for a tv - i cant find it on the LG website though.

it doesnt say what resolution the tv runs at on the currys website as well....

It's a real shame this doesn't have freeview thought. Great price!
#17
ive got a freeview box so this seems like the ideal purchase for me.

is there a recommendation for pixel response time? im not sure what it means but ive seen some posts quoting 5ms, and this one is 8ms.
banned#18
8ms is fine. This is a great price considering the quality of this TV.
#19
**** tv.. the contrast:

Contrast - 1000 : 1

thats rubbish... u want at least 3000:1 in a lcd.

the good Samsung ones are:
Contrast - 8000 : 1 (Dynamic)

and im telling you it makes a massive difference
#20
The Currys site Specs says this is not wall mountable.

Which is odd as I thought nearly all LCDs would be wall mountable. Is the Currys site talking bull?
#21
I have one of these TV's in my bedroom and it supports upto 1080i.

The TV is NOT wall mountable as it is actually quite bulky.

The picture quality is pretty sound. There is a PC input/RGB connector. Both in and out.

I use it for my Xbox 360 and it is pretty fantastic.
#22
shame, i needed wall mountable and refreshed this post after i ordered the tv!!!! now gotta cancel it!

or could go for the samsung 32" for £531 delivered? LE32R88BD

edit: sorry, pixmania has this tv for £480, so i'm sure its cheaper elsewhere.

I dont actually think you know what you are talking about, samsung (i have a 40" R74) are slightly prone to exageration with their contrast ratios.
#24
I think this is wall mountable. Pixmania sell the TV with a wall mount....

I think you need to read up a bit on it, no offence intended mate, but on testing that dynamic contrast has had a rating of 900:1 so you can't compare both as is.
Also 3000:1 let's not confuse it with plasma! 1000:1 is not bad but you are right there are better models outthere with better specs but again is up to the person where he would like to buy it or what type he/she prefers.

go to check out and add the 2 codes

"AW20TVS" and "YAW800"

;)

Ordered, have been waiting for a 27incher to come at a sensible price, I know all the merits of a SIPS panel, so jumped at it.

Shame there was an AW30TVS that took off £30 yesterday...

Well if I or my rents dont like it can always send it back via the distance selling act :)

Cheers,

Ian

http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/129440
http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/128561

They are all pretty much within budget. and the Ebuyer ones have maximum marks.
I have been told that LG is very reliable when it comes down to TVs as well!
Any idea which one is best...

Thx csiman

The Hannspree and Elonex have a 1200:1 ratio though! Do u mean its better value for money due to the brand, i.e LG?
TBH am really looking at the specs. Also, I take it the Hanspree and Elonex are realiable due to their max mark!

Hi

People

Can I not collect at this price? Just that I have Currys gift vouchers of £200! So thought I could add a bit extra using these vouchers and buy this?
