Nice find Rayman

Wonder can you use a dixons voucher after it has been price matched ?

Great price, voted hot

That picture looks like the 32LX2R.. I bought this for £900.00 about November 2005. Very nice picture Great functionality...highly recommended at this price. It does support 1080i but is native res of 720p. I have the XBOX 360 connected by component..V+ box by HDMI and my PC using the DVI port. There are still 2 scarts to use too if I need them. There are newer TV's out there that support higher 1080p resolution but not at this price...At this price I may get a second one for my bedroom!!!

Am responding to my own comments now !!! Must be mad

Anyway, called dixons who agreed to price match, but they have changed their settings. Used to be they gave you a code and you input this online to receive the price match. They will only do it over the phone now, so no Egg Discount and no quidco.

Anyhows, still a great price for what seems like a great LCD TV from a recognised brand.
Mine arrives on Tuesday, so will let all know first hand.

Did you get the £30 off the 247Electrical price doing that over the phone?

No, never thought of that, but unlikely I guess as they were already price matching.
Having no idea where the code originated from or what it was for, It didn't seem likely.

Have linked via quidco and paid with my egg card. Waiting to see if I get the 5% on egg. Any other time I have done this with dixons, it's went thru on both. If it does, it means that I will get this TV for £448. Not bad when I was looking at the hannspree one on here last week for about £400 delivered to N.Ireland.

Can you advise where the codes appeared from ?

Was gonna buy this a while ago, but opted for the Toshiba LCD as the LG had a analogue tuner.

Interesting review here:

Ok we have have the documents in front of us for buy now pay in 9 months with 0% interest added on (if paid before the end of the 9 months) with Raymans idea of 247Electical.Co.UK

im going to send off the documents tomorrow, now is this the best deal out at the moment?
Is there any other better deals for a 32" ldc tv?
Is it worth getting the digital tuner rather than the analogue or is it just with preference?

thanks for the replys and help
#13
any help would be good? :whistling: :p

The Samsung specific codes are online for anyone to use: http://www.hotukdeals.com/go/?m=9&d=http://www.dixons.co.uk/martprd/editorial/Samsung%20Exclusive%20LCD%20TVs%2007A?camp_id=ppc_%20tvcamp

The £30 off £500 is a Dixons own promotional code.

Is this tv digital or analogue?
#16
ah right i see it now, the digital tuner on that point is the "freeview".....which i really dont need so it wont matter as i have sky and if i ever need freeview i can always buy a cheap box

Beware if u buy this set from any DSG outlet (Dixons, Currys, Pixmania, PC Wolrd) - most are advertising as having DVI, unfortunatly some buyers are receiving a cheaper (and by all accounts) sub-standard version of this set intended for the Turkish market (!) some report the panel used is also below standard when comparing it the UK spec set they eventualy managed to get exchanged for. It also looks different too, the rear has different layout for input/outups (vga instead of dvi) and the bezel below the screen is black and not silver as per pictures. Apparently it's not (according to LG) an updated version either, looks like DSG are palming off cheapo's guys!

Correct spec for the UK set is on www.LGE.co.uk.

There's a thread about this on AVForums btw.

So this tv im going to get from 24/7 electricals...is that a dodgy place??

Saxo_appeal---The analogue/digital tuner depends on personal circumstances. If you have the money for cable or sky the who cares what the tuner on the TV does. If you have no access to a separate tuner such as cable/sky then I would go with a freeview tuner to get any free channels that are offered.
#21
thanks for the info fuzzy eerrrrrr navel lol

but i kinda answered myself in #17  :giggle:

anyone know more about this 24/7 company before i post the envelope tomorrow?

Many thanks titty. I will certainly be checking for this. I would have had no idea otherwise being completely LCD illiterate.
#24
So what will happen is if i recieve this tv then and check the back, if it doesn have the dvi-i there then i will send it back.
#25
had a look at this TV in Currys yesterday, it did NOT have the DVI port.
The dixons website clearly says that it does. Will know better on Tuesday when mine is delivered.
The 247electrical site also claims to have the dvi input, but no egg card discount.
#26
Ok ill send off the paperwork but where is this DVI input so i can check the tv when its delivered?
If it doesnt have it then its going right back !!!

keep us posted mrtootough

Just to let all know, Egg Card Cashback received at 5% - £448 for 32" LG LCD TV - gotta be a bargain.
#29
TV Arrived, looks fantastic but NO dvi Input

Not sure if I should take issue with it but as it's Dixons and they have wiped my eye over a £1 Samsung LCD (I haven't forgot), I probably will.
#31

Not like any of them, it is the correct model number, but does NOT have the DVI input. Only managed to get a quick look at it at lunch time, so will know better tonight. Will try post a photo if it helps.
#32
Yeh mrtootough that would help by posting a picture and any details etc and pictures of where this dvi-i in port should be

My order is now in process for sat delivery or sooner, i called them today and the guy i spoke to was very helpfull and went and phoned his warehouse to check....
He did come back to me and say that they did not know about this problem of these NO DVI-I input lcd's, i told him about the situation with the main retailers and they said all their tv's were only for UK market

so i will wait and see from 24/7 eletricals and see what they send me, if it doesnt have dvi-i in then its going righto backo

he said thats not a problem and to fill in a form on their website.

would this mean any of these tv's that dont have dvi-i input are just turkety market products and are no use here?
#33
cmon mrtootough, lol where are these photos ? :? :whistling: :giggle:
#34
Ok just phoned 24/7 company up and im not taking any chances with this dvi-i in problem so i changed my order to the Samsung LE32R74BDX / 32in HD Ready LCD IDTV had to pay the differnce as this tv cost more, had to pay £66
then the rest in December with no interest :w00t: :w00t: :p

Football on last night !!! Had to watch it on my new LCD tv !!!

Will try post a picture tonight.

I am happy enuff at the minute - plugged the xbox 360 in with component cables and there was a very noticable improvement from my Sony 32" Old style telly.

Not being an expert, I'd say the picture is very good and have no complaints with it. The DVi from what I gather is only if you want to use it as an input for a PC or laptop which I am sure I will never require, however, will examine further tonight, and probably call Dixons tomorrow to complain. Maybe get an upgrade !!!

How much was the samsung saxo ?
#36
Hey toughlad lol

Yeh the tv was £548 i think, i had to pay the difference as the finance had already been agreed and would have had to wait longer for it to come.

Looks a really nice tv, hopefully get it soon .....looked a really good spec compard to the LG

Seems like a good price, dixons doing it for £624, but they pricematch 24/7electrical and am guessing that if you have an egg card you will get 5% cashback.

Specification looks similar to the LG one that I got although the samsung has freeview built in.
To be honest, spent more than I should have. Started looking at a 20" LCD and managed to bump it way up. Kept saying, for a few extra quid, I could get the next size up.
#38
any photos of it yet mr tought ? is it a good picture with the 360?

i was in gamestation the other day and they had dead or alive 4 on it to play through an HD tele.....oh my god.....the graphics were so cool!!!!

stupid question but how do you measure a tv is it diagonally corner to corner, or is it the horizontal width?
