Don't know what the Dixons/Currys salesman told you but your TV also has the same 1366x768 res as this one meaning it isn't 1080p either. TV has to have a resolution of 1920x1080 to be full 1080p.

If it's telling you it's 1080p when you connect a 1080p source it means the TV can accept a 1080p source and is downscaling it.

Shouln't worry, 1080p isn't really necessary under 50" anyway.

Hope this helps

Nah no salesmen told me owt bought it not expecting it to be 1080 got it out box said 1080 on it and i use my 360 with it on 1080i as my 360 aint hdmi and it runs on that
#16
Your 360 is outputting a 1080i signal and your TV is downscaling that to 720p as that is what a 1366x768 TV can display.
Most HD Ready TV's will have a 1080i/p sticker on them. Just means they can accept a 1080i/p signal.
Not knocking the TV as it is a good set at that price. Just pointing out that it Isn't a 1080p set to save any confusion.

Good explanation of HD resolutions here.

Whatever says 1080p on it and runs 1080i does what i need to which is provide me with a better experience when playing the 360 than the old ****** tv and is a brilliant tv for the price.
