Bought this TV when it was £243 and I can say the picture quality is brilliant and great for games as well. Not tried the USB video hack myself but it should be able to playback video via USB.

Has anyone who has this tv noticed their tuner screwing up for a little bit after switching on an xbox 360/ps3 that's connected to it via hdmi?
Wondering if it's a common fault or if it's just my particular tv... (ordered it from ebuyer's ebay a month or two back for £20 more)

It's a good tv, i use it for gaming all the time.

I was just wondering if i had a dodgy tuner because whenever i turn on my xbox or ps3 my tv's tuner craps out for about a minute before settling back down to normal.
Was just trying to find out if others have had the same happen, or if it is indeed my particular tv with a dodgy tuner.

Edit: I think this is a great deal btw

Mine does this, the picture mimises then changes and my xbox won't turn on properly until I switch the channel over.

Android phone ? Will a Orange San Fran/ZTE Blade work ? As i am considering this or the ld490 as the 37"d580 on order with amazon is taking its time changing the estimate delivery date even though its been in stock a few days now ! If my phone can do it it makes it a little easier choosing the ld450 over the ld490.......... Plus i could save myself a little bit even though i no the d580 will be much better but i could live with the lg (_;)

Thanks

Does anyone know if Amazon give price difference refunds due to price drops? Bought it for £245 a few days ago =[ I know they used to have a policy before 2008, not sure where they stand on it now...

I looked into doing this hack a couple of months back and saw nothing mention an android phone.

According to this page ( http://openlgtv.org.ru/wiki/index.php/IR_Hack )/other pages/my memory, the only methods are with:
- a Symbian S60v3/Symbian S60v2 phone with IrDA sensor
- Win5 or Win6 Phone with an IrDA sensor
- Jailbroken PSP-1000 (later models of PSPs wont work)
- a universal remote that has buttons capable of being programmed with an EFC code
designed to mimick specific butons (cheapest compatible one i think was £7 from ebay, cheap ones from poundland didnt have an EFC button)

Think those are the only ways to enable this "safe" hack, think there's other methods of changing the tv's firmware but that's not recommended and can lead to bricking.

If you successfully get into the LG service menu by using the hack then don't enable any other features other than movie support, seeing as it can brick your tv.

Note: haven't done this hack myself because i didnt already own any compatible devices and didnt want to buy something to enable it seeing as i'm not sure id ever use the feature.

I did contact them once, but item was still with DHL so I had option to refuse old one and get refund and order new one cheaper - with this argument they refunded me the difference

I'm sure the goods selling act lets you return any items sold over the internet within 14 days no questions asked.

Don't you generally have to pay for the postage though? and then if it gets damaged in transit amazon won't be happy and it'll be a whole heap of hassle... etc.

Does anyone know if this TV can accept a PC signal through HDMI running at 60hz?

I thought it was 7 days ?
It would be at your own cost though, making it not worth while returning ..........

It would still be worth it as amazon charge for the postage, which happens to be only £5 on electrical goods- it's just the hassle of sending it back. Anyway, I sent them an email asking for a part refund to save me from sending it back and they replied with:

Thanks for writing to us about the recent price change on "LG 32LD450 32-inch Widescreen Full HD 1080p LCD TV with Freeview ".

I recognise that you have a choice of retailers and appreciate that you prefer to order from us. Please note that we do not extend a post-order price guarantee.

I've reviewed your order and see that the price change was significant and you just received this item from us. Under the circumstances and to avoid the hassle of returning the item, I'll make a one-time exception for you and issue a refund for the price difference in the amount of 24.84 GBP. Refunds usually go through within 2-3 days and you will see this amount credited on your next statement.

Extremely pleased!

Damn, just ordered this a few days ago for £243 with Dixons.
Does anyone know if Dixons price match?

Great price - however uninspiring review here

Once the tv had been hacked, what files can it play from USB?
#34
isn't this the standard freeview tuner in this model or has it got the HD tuner?
#35
Ahhh yes Symbian! I have an Iphone so don't really know much about the other operating systems
