Unless you're using this only with satellitte, you're better to go for the LG 32LD490. It's £30 more and includes Freeview HD and internet.

Same price at dixons with some cashback .

Or buy the LG 32LD490 from John Lewis for £299 with a 5-year guarantee thrown in. That's probably the one I'd go for.

I like the look of that JL TV. Is there anything similar around with 100hz frame rate and back lighting? Thanks.

Same price at Currys.

sweet something like this used to be £320 a year ago

This price all the time now for these freeview tv's!

Cheap because they don't have freeview HD or media player capability!

OK, go and buy from Dixons then if it gives you that... 'funny' feeling. ;)

They do have media player capability with a simple option change in a service menu. I just picked one up from amazon for £220 the other day. Lack of freeview HD doesn't bother me as I'll be using an external tuner anyway.

Basically if you aren't fussed about it having freeview HD natively then this is the smart purchase as it's the same panel as the more expensive versions, just with less features (dlna, apps etc).

100Hz refresh rates is a pointless spec, no video is shot at a framerate that matches that, and LED backlighting also doesn't increase quality either.

Bought this for £219 from Amazon about three weeks ago, performed the hack to play video.
I think this is a fantastic tv, can't fault it at all. Great for the PS3 and as a monitor also.

DYOR cus 100Hz and eg 24 fps are different things.

Picked mine up in Currys/PC World last week for £250. Really wanted one with an IPS panel rather than MVA so needed to see the model number on the box. Great tv for gaming and pc monitor, as long as you get the right panel.

are there any good 42" lg tv deals (~£400) going around at the moment? (lg because of the simplink to the lg surround system we already have ;))

I ordered that today after they price matched RicherSounds at £269.95 including delivery and the 5 year warranty; there’s a HUKD deal specifically for that.
I did the price match online against RS’s in-store price as I was going to collect but it turns out if you want to buy in-store you have to do a separate price match so I decided to avail myself of their free postage.
