FYI the LG Blu-Ray Player is £155.80 at the BT shop.

Decent Deal.

Was it? I didn't see it. I posted a similar deal yesterday with a home cinema system.

On the face of it, this is a good deal. The telly is £447 on it's own at Amazon without the 5 year warranty.

However, reviews aren't great and my research also shows tha Panasonic LG32G10B to be a MUCH better Freesat TV.

That set is £570, so it's obviously quite a jump in price, but I'd personally rather spend the extra money for a 5 star rated product.

Also, Blu-Ray players seem to be getting cheaper very quickly and I've never understood why anyone would buy a standalone model when a PS3 isn't a lot of money more.

Good deal but Blu-Ray on a 32" will not look much better than a good upscaling DVD. You will see a big difference on a 50" but not on a 32". It is often stated that 1080p is overkill on a 32" and HD ready is sufficient. But voted hot anyway as there are people who already have 50" screens and want a 2nd LCD TV

Got the 42 inch version of this television and its a good quality buy. Heat added.

You can get the TV on its own for £396 its been dropping over the last couple of weeks.
The TV's not a bad spec for a freesat. The panasonic is 100hz but on a 32 inch TV you hardly notice the difference.
Electro Centre had the tV for £398 with a free stand and free hdmi cable, but thats gone back up to £419 now, still not a bad deal.
Most sites had this TV for £480 2 weeks back.
Ive been monitoring it.

That's what I was thinking the differences show up more on a larger screen.

Of course this is the case, but anyone who thinks that HD doesn't look better than SD even on a 32" needs their eyes tested badly.

If looking for a 32 1080p I would recommend the LG LH3000 it around £360 no free stat but will play Divx etc when you apply a simple hack. Not voting as I have no knowledge of free stat

I have a Bush HD receiver and 32" HD ready tv and the SD channels are upscaled and I don't see a big difference between upscaled SD and HD.

You obviously have not seen the Toshiba XDE-500 which upscales to 1080p. On a 32" it is far better value than Blu-Ray, but this will not be the case with a 50" screen. Blu-Ray has not, and will not replace DVD in the same way that DVD replaced VHS. What will replace both is Media Centres

And if you think Blu-Ray looks a lot better than a good quality upscaling DVD player on a 32" HD ready (720p) LCD you need your eyes tested

If you have an HD sat receiver that upscales the SD channels do you have to switch something off or on, on an HD tv so that they don't both try to upscale at the same time ?
