Very cool tv, voted hot!!!!!!!

I've got the 50" version of this and they are really nice panels. The frameless design is sweet - it's just one large panel of glass at the front, completely flush.

Hot!

For a 32", this is not a problem...

Ordered one on the 27th using the buy it now, pay later option. Was supposed to have my order processed on the 29th. Haven't heard anything and have been unable to get hold of Bennetts since. Guess I'll struggle even more now... :w00t:

Great deal tho!

How long do plasma screens last - dont they deteriorate over time?
Also, which uses more power plasma or LCD?

No they don't deteriate, don't panic. They'll last as long as an LCD TV. They do need more power but it fluctuates with the brightness of the picture.

Are these a lot heavier than LCD ones?

Reason I ask is because I have a 30" Viewsonic telly up on a wall bracket but the wall is only plasterboard. I managed to get one of the coachbolts into a wooden batten so it's fairly secure but since the panel has developed a line down one side after 3 years I'm tempted by this but not sure if it might be too heavy.

Are Plasma's more robust than LCD's as far as children whacking them goes.

My son has just damaged our LCD, wall mounting not an ideal option otherwise it would have been done.

Anyone know if this sort of damage covered on run of the mill house insurance?

Unless you plan on using it as a PC monitor, if you're that way inclined.

Perfectly happy with my 42" 720p Panasonic plasma for all viewing purposes but if I was connecting up a PC for web/media centre use than 1080p would be nicer. But I prefer a dedicated PC screen.

Voted hot. With this you don't have to compromise on viewing angles etc. for a smaller room.

From my experience 0f kids & having owned an Plasma & now LCD...I would say moste definately YES!

Plasma rules on this front

how high in hd do this go is 720p or only 1080i
#34
This is a 720p panel, but will support 1080i and 1080p signals and downscale them to 720p.

Been reading insurance policy and it would appear to be covered but mentions, like for like, might need to convince them to replace with Plasma lol

Most major insurers will arrange for one of their approved retailers to replace the item, as you are dealing with the retailer you usually have some choice on what you get as long as it is within the budget the insurer have given you/them, you can always pay extra to upgrade most insurers are fine with that.
Also most insurance policies will give you accidental damage cover for audio visual equipment of a non portable nature even if you haven't paid for extended accidental damage cover, check the small print.

It's on their home page not the link to the TV:)

Testament to this TV's 32" prowess is that it has maintained its price since its launch 4 or 5 months ago - in fact I would go so far as saying it has actually risen in price (which shows how sought after it has been). The big question though: is this such a great price now given it was a wee bit lower 2 or 3 months ago??

Also anybody interested in a 32" Plasma might be interested in knowing that LG don't plan on continuing developing the 32" Plasma market any further and this will the one and only 32" Plasma launched by them ... so how long they will be on sale for is anyones guess.

One thing that is sure though is that it will blow out of the water ANY 32" LCD for picture quality, design, picture tweaking and sheer beauty.

Actually, I expect Pioneer's 32" effort probably beats it on picture quality overall... but it's extremely expensive and completely not worth it in my opinion.

Great price if you want to watch this for movies. Stay clear of it if you're a console gamer or tend to leave the same channel on a lot. The image retention is very noticeable.
