Curry's have a special offer on the LG 37LH3000 LCD TV for £399 (Its definately online, I dont know if its instore as well). Originally priced @£549 and the cheapest I can find it elsewhere online is about £449. If you use Quidco, you get 3% back (as long as it tracks), bringing the total down to £387. This includes free standard delivery.

TV seems to have good reviews:

its a good tv, but a quite a big batch of these have a sound fault.

I've recently had to send mine back to curries. and my dads tv has the same fault too.

You can't quote the price after potential Quidco discounts, as these are not guaranteed.

AVForums have a discussion about some problems, but they are supposed to have been resolved at the beginning of the year. My brother has one and its top notch

Yes, I have the same problem. To fix it, you need to go to the bottom of the page and untick the "Logick 1.8Meter TV and Audio Leads and Accessories". You can get the TV into the shopping cart then :) . I have no clue what cables are included (most have a cheap scart/hdmi cable, but you should seriously look at upgrading to get the best out of the TV - IMHO)

There is supposed to be a code - 5D300, if you go via quidco, that actually gets you 5% off the final price. However it doesnt seem to be working. This is only for reserve and collect. and should expire on the 11/11/2009. In theory if this was working 399-5%=379. Good luck!

ooo, looks nice. http://www.testfreaks.co.uk/tvs/lg-42pq3000/ gives its solid rating. And it is 5" bigger!!!!

Good article on which.co.uk (LCD vs Plasma) http://www.which.co.uk/advice/lcd-vs-plasma-tvs/index.jsp. Having owned both, I prefer LCD's for marginally better power consumption. But you cannot sniff at a 42"er!
#13
oktane, the only thing putting me off the 42" is if the discount codes are not honered !!!! still if uidco tracks its £420

Good luck... I could not get the 42" past the WAF (Wife Acceptance Factor)... apparently too big for the lounge.... My theory is that if it fits through the door, size is not an issue! Let us know how you get on.

Yeah true, although im tempted just to go and pick one up from the store now.

Am I making a good decision here like? I hate it when I buy something then a better deal comes on tomorrow.

Although this looks like a cracker of a TV, might go instore and see what the picture looks like compared to a Toshiba.

Always advisable to see it in the skin before buying. If you are tele watcher, you want to be happy with what you stare at for the next few years... (Hmmm many mixed messages going out in these threads today ) Tosh has quality products as well. If you are not sure, head over to Avforums for more info

The thing is, i have bought maybe 5 LG TVs over the past 2-3 years. Not one has let me down yet despite comments of faulty TVs. I'm going to go instore and see what this looks like.

Our downstairs TV (Hannspree) has broke so going to move my 32LG5010 to the living room and hopefully, if i'm happy with this 37LH3000 put it in the loft for use with my PS3.

Sounds GREAT. To be honest I spent a very pleasant afternoon play Rock Band 5 on the PS3 at a family members house and was blown away by the tele. Hence looking out for any decent deals. Pity the 5% off voucher isnt working at the mo:x

Oooo. You gotta say, its a really good price for that tele. Any chance you can see them in the flesh? That would probably be my deciding factor

Yeah gonna go round in a bit and see which looks better. Maybe have the LG though as I can see my smallish loft getting very hot with that plasma up there.

Yeah the code 5D300 is for 5% off anything over £300 and keeps saying its expired.

However the 5D500 for 5% off orders over £500 is still working, weird.

sorry 5d 500 dont work for me
