Great bargain,i paid £330 for the 32" version for someone before xmas.

Voted hot. Plus this is a really good TV.

I have got the 32LG5010 in my loft hooked up to the PS3 and it is probably the best thing i have ever bought (apart from my car :))

Seems a good price to me,

Under distance selling laws they have 28days to deliver (not dispatch: deliver) the item(s) from the day they take your money.

Most retailers only charge upon dispatch or if they charge then dispatch days/weeks later they ensure they have a refund system in place ensuring you can't go more than 28days without having recieved your goods. Unfortunately I suspect alot of catalogue companies do the latter...

I am speaking from experience here.. after ordering one at the end of last week. Only afterwards I notice the small note where it says 'delivery free - new model coming soon!'

I called them to enquire about this and they told me they hadnt got any stock.. and would be 2 weeks at least.. and they have load loads of orders for this TV. (probably thanks to the HDUK posts)

They have now refunded my credit card though.

which one got the best tv's, LG, Pnanasonic, Hitachi, Sony, Samsung

And what is the best thing to look out for before buying out a TV apart from the Size, HD or HD ready, Contrast Ratio ?

yeah contrast ratio is a big factor for me when buying a HD TV.

Look at how many HDMI's they have (3 is plenty)
Check the brightness is not too bad (about 500 is the norm i think)
Check what it outputs 720p,1080i,1080p?
Response time (5ms or lower is what to aim for). Unless it uses 100hz technology which is great.

I always check whether its got that energy saving badge on too. Should save you a few pennies of your bills and help the environment :p

Hope thats answered one or two of your questions. ;-)

EDIT: All those companies you've said are good although i would never buy a TV by Hitachi. I have bought 3 LG TV's over the past couple of years and have to say they are superb. Cant really comment on the others.

I don't get to understand how t know that the TV has got a "True Life" screen as like the laptops, as I bought a Sony LCD last year and compared to one of mates wo had a Samsung one, Sony's screen looked dull, just like the difference of laptops screens missing a tru life display?

Was just about to goto Richer sounds to get the one linked here, what's your reason though?

Hot deal for the LG, and added rep for OP and stevey_p

Thinking of getting it now, it's around £360 without the cadcash or whatever it is. With 10% of anyway.

Is it good specs for that price?

Just wondering, but as a lounge monitor (i.e. maybe occasional web browsing from a distance) wouldn't the 720p (rigged as 1368x768) be bigger and easier to read? Was going to go for a 37" 720p set for this reason

Its my own opinion but i have had awful experiences with their customer services.

If any of your Hitachi products stop working then trying to contact them and work out a replacement is not pleasant.

About 2 years ago i had a Hi-Fi that broke and was still within warranty so i contacted them in order to get it fixed. 6 months down the line i still had no replacement after numerous times of re-contacting them.

In that same year we also had a Hi 'takky' TV where the scart sockets were faulty, albeit this was a CRT TV and not a lcd/plasma. Anyway it took over 3 months to get the damn thing fixed.

So answer to your Q is there is no problem with Hitachi things but when they break then god help you trying to sort it out. Then again this is my own personal experience and might be a one-off.

Would be interesting tosee if anyone else has had problems with Hitachi in the past.

By the way thanks for the Rep..... my rant is now over ;-)

bought this from argos before xmas price was 399 plus 10 discount voucher and free del ,+ 3 years accidental damage and warranty ,noticed it was down to 385 last week so may be worth checking with argos to see if still available, worth the extra due to longer warranty, delivered mine in 3 days which was brilliant as the deal hit over 800 on hukd

#25
Nice Tv, want one, just to show off that Iv got a nice TV, then send it back...
#26
I have this TV and it is brilliant ... No problems with sound at all, everything about it works, simple and very easy

You do need quite a strong signal to pick up the freeview but i am using a booster and everything is perfect.

Hooked up the xbox via HDMI and it is spot on.

so although you can order there is no stock at all and a huge backlog ?? brilliant

I dont see how that is possible , my status is awating dispatch and expected delivery date is monday , called up the online sales team to check. Not sure who unexpiered this.
#29
i did - as it doesnt show on the site anymore ...

Which would also back up everyones storys that it is no longer in stock and they have a back order ,,, you have obviously got lucky with your order.

Having experienced bennetts before, i wouldnt be surprised if your order was put back a few days, then again and so on until they admit to having no stock or they say

we cannot determine when we will recieve more stock and therefore here is your money back

(basically we cant fulfill the contract and as we have already taken your money we cant break the law by keeping it any longer)
