You will not find this TV to buy new anywhere, there may be some ex-display models somewhere, but it is at the discrecion of the store to sell it or not. It is a clearance item.
#2
its not that good is it?
#3
It may be clearance but quite a few places seem to have them in stock and even if it is clearance it is a good price for a 37inch LCD TV. Well I think it is LOL:p
#4
i can get one but not too sure on the display format its olny 720p is that any good?

Yes it is good if it is 720p but I can't seem to find any resolution specs for it, unless you want to spend £1k for a full blown 1080p. At this price if you can get one then go for it.
#7
but is this worth getting?
would you spend 3xx on a hanspree which aparaently has got 1080 or 720p for 450?
#8
I seem to get one if I put postcode for maidstone in me14 1xq!!!
#9
It hasn't got the greatest of reviews in avforums.com, with alot of backlight issues..
Do some homework before purchasing..
#10
If given the option...Hannspree every time!
#11
doing homework but people keep putting new offers up
#12
Is available in Northern Ireland. Would advise to go for it at this price.
the 32" LG LCD was going for approx £500 a week or so ago.
#13
Mate any tv that does 720p can do 1080, but only 1080i. I think you need to read up a bit as the two are different technologies and affect the picture in a different way. So do not get the Hanspree one confused for a fully blown 1080p set. This one will do the same resolution as the Hanspree one. But if people are saying the Hanspree is better then just go for that one.
#14
cheers
thanks alot
been looking at av forums all night and cant make up my mind its all very confusing wanting the best price for the best product
#15
I suppose it depends on what you want it for.

Mine's a second set for the bedroom - the wife can't see the small tvs

If it arrives and it's rubbish I'll look at returning it. There seem to be many happy folk on the forums as well as those with complaints

Good luck finding what you want

don't worry about 720p etc. problem with all the HD stuff is that it's introduced a lot of new worries for people who would just normally 'buy a tv'.

you won't miss out on anything if it just takes 720p (although I suspect it will be taking 1080i as well) ALWAYS use 720p as you're not gaining anything by using the 1080i. what will be happening is that the set would take the 1080 signal and downscale it to 720, which adds in processing. in addition you are also giving it an interlaced signal rather than the superior full, progressive signal.

Even a lot of sets (including many sony's) that are capable of displaying a 1080 picture actually have no method of taking a full 1080p in through their connections! They still are only capable of taking 1080i and then combining it into a 'p'.

imo, people should be doing what they've always always done and buying the set that looks the best to them within their price-range, rather than comparing very ambiguous tech-specs.

to cut the answer short - if it's 720p, it'll be fine. a 37" set will not show any appreciable difference unless you're sat 1ft away from it. (moot point as there are no 37" 1080 sets on release anyway. smallest is 42" although sharp have just demo'd one, but may not put it into prodyution)

i'm looking for a tv that will fit great in the living room (it is quite large) we have sky and an xbox 360 to put through it
apart from that its getting a bargain
if people seriously think this is a bargain compared to hanspree or other mid £300 range for a 32 inch then i'll go for this one
just might have to take out a warrenty too though

Processed my order ok. Shall wait and see if it goes through lol... id be very suprised if it does :-P

That's a good price for a branded TV of this size and specification. It's not the newest TV in the world, and certainly not the best looking. But for this price, it's very tempting.

Has anyone else noticed that pcworld seems to have fallen off the face of quidco of late? You used to get 6% back on PCworld stuff.

Dixons and Currys both have this tv aswell and its free delivery so works out slightly cheaper. as they are part of the same group, you have as much chance as getting this from pc world than you do from dixons or currys.

dont forget quidco aswell!

Dixons cheapest 37 inch is a matsui at £599 and £649 at Currys in fact Currys don't have a 32inch as cheap as this 37 inch.

If you have a link then please post. Thanks

The same TV was on this forum the other week from PCW. Despite 5 attempts to purchase (got through the postcode stock checker ok) it got cancelled every time.

I have received emails from PCW stating it is a clearance line on no longer in stock ANYWHERE!! and would be removed from the internet.......That was on the 15th March, yet they still continue to advertise it and accept orders for it.

Just a ploy to get people to there website for sure.....Pathetic!!

why are people voting hot YOU CANT BUY IT!!!!!!!!

Dear Mr xxxxxx

Thank you for your email of 18 March 2007.

Having looked into your enquiry, I am able to confirm that the website has been reported for allowing orders to be processed when the warehouse does not have the stock to fulfil the orders.

PC World are not in breech of contract as we have the right to cancel an order at any time. Also orders are accepted due to stock availability this is clearly stated on the terms and conditions on our website. On the 5 occasions that you have placed an order stock was not available.

You were made aware of this as we will have emailed you to notify you of the cancellation as we have no further stock, but you continued to place orders with the knowledge that they would be declined PC World cannot be held responsible for this.

On this occasion we do not feel that compensation is necessary.

Please accept my apologies for any inconvenience that may have been caused.

Yours sincerely

........

Surely this is against false advertising laws???, Although in the end I was given £50 off the next LG TV available, which ended up working out at £599.99 and had Freeview, PiP etc. I very am pleased with my purchase, the picture & sound is fantastic. But I do feel a little aggreived that I was talked into spending more money than I intended to.....

They may not have broke terms and conditions cancelling my order on the LG37LZ55 "5" times......But surely to continue to advertise something they do not have, and encouraging people to phone up and end up selecting a dearer item is against their Trading Laws??

I posted this in good faith as a good price AFTER I'd put my order through (so I thought it was possible to get hold of them). I don't know if I will get it but it's surely worth posting.

Isn't it?

They are now saying not available due to no stock. I'll wait for my cancellation email but in the meantime it may be best to mark this expired
