I'm looking for a new TV at the moment...... What's the consensus on LG TV's ??
Never owned this make.
#2
Not sure why there were initial down voters.

I see its not 3D, but cant see a better brand/spec on the market for better money.

Heat.

I have an LG at the moment. I love it. The App for getting screen grabs (as well as being a remote control on my phone) is clever/useful.

The TV itself has never missed a beat. Incredible picture.

This is LED (which im not a fan of, so my comments are in reference a 60/Plasma) but the brand im very happy with.

My almost 5 yr old Samsung has just gone wrong...... Richer sounds are repairing it on Friday under their 5 yr warranty.
But I'm gonna stick it in the bedroom and buy a new TV for the lounge.

RS have a 39" Panny LED for £319....... Just wondered whether I should be looking at LG as well ?
Will only be buying from RS cos of their top class free 5 yr warranty.

Its only a 50hz tho, if you thinking to keep up with the latest tv, i recommend having the output quality with the 100hz

personally I think sammy/sony are leading the market atm. I don't profess to be an expert but having looked into tvs/reviews for my purchase a few weeks back the general consensus seemed to be panny has gone downhill since they ditched their plasmas and I generally didn't hear much about lg.

Also worth noting that John lewis also do 5 year warranty and generally get a better rep than richer sounds. I agree that I wouldn't buy a tv that didn't come with one.

Looks like a good price for a bedroom TV. Only 1 HDMI slot is disappointing, what's all that about. What would be the best way to get around the lack of HDMI slots? and what would be a good sound bar to suit? Thanks.

Only 1 HDMI. What's that all about?
#9
Only 1 HDMI, only 50hrz, I assume its only 1 yr guarantee.......
Doesn't seem that good a deal to me.

1 HDMI these days is very poor, even cheap brands come with 2-3. Won't be voting either way.

You can get a HDMI switcher so that one HDMI slot can switch to Three HDMI, also its automatic recognise which HDMI device is switched on. I think it cost around £10-12 in ebay/amazon

By the way, you get £14.50 cashback from quidco with this order as well. Brings it down to £275.

Or if you want it faster there is some refurbish model of this TV for £279 from Tesco outlet ebay.

I've had an LG for about 7 years now. 42" Full HD LCD and it's never let me down. It's been really hard to think about getting a new TV when the features on mine always seem to be up to job still when compared to newe ones.

I have an LG TV and it's fantastic. Highly recommended. This one is only 'wireless ready', but I prefer wired connections anyway.
Two HDMI slots is not great, but at this price you can't complain too much.

Sorry, but voting cold on this occasion.

The 2 LG TV's I have had have both developed faults just outside their waranty and Groupon have also let me down on 2 occasions were I have not received the goods and had loads of hassle trying to get refunds.

I am sure my experience will not be the same as everybody elses, but I can only vote on my own experiences!

Would that be just outside the standard 1 yr warranty ?

Yes, and tried claiming my SOGA rights for 2 years, good luck trying to enforce that, unless you take them to court.

Think i'll stick with my original plan of buying a TV that has a 5 yr warranty.... either Richer Sounds or John Lewis.

Really dislike that kind of stand

Really dislike that kind of stand

So do I..... especially as my TV stand isn't as wide as the TV I put on it.
