nice price but dont think I will go LG ever again. First LG we got Sound didnt work (new out the box), Replacement wouldnt tune in (Again new out the box), Third one finally worked but the power supply board died in it within 6 months, got it repaired at home under the warranty but now after a year it now sometimes locks up when you switch from say DTV to AV1 for 30+ seconds or sometimes you have to turn it off and on again to un freeze it. But this is 2 - 3 years old now so newer models probably wont have this problem now

I've got a 1 year old 42" LG TV, which has been on for several hours a day every day and I have been over the moon with it. Excellent picture and sound quality and never a moments trouble.

These are ex display models and as some one else previously mentioned possible will be without remote or stand.
But with 5 years warranty a good plasma for the price or for the extra £50 get a new LG 42PJ350.

Yeah gotta agree, I wish Richer Sounds were banned from this forum.
A total of 9 in stock nationwide & also looks if most are exdisplay, returns or damaged etc
Not a deal worth chasing IMO
What sort of electrical store has a website with no option for delivery anyway????
Thanks OP though ;-)
#14
Still a good price worth taking a look i have never seen 42 plasmas for £299 before oO
#15
Some may be ex-display or ex-repair, please phone to check stock if you are making a special journey.

Sale of Goods Act anyone? Goods must last a reasonable length of time. FYI, my first plasma, an Hitachi 42PD5200 is 10yo already and never missed a beat, been repaired or regassed. ;)

Richer do a delivery option on some select items, but not all and especially those that are marked as "last few - to clear" such as this one.

So richer Sounds should be banned because someone posted a deal that they had no choice in being posted? oO

Wow! 10 yrs old and hasn't need regassing! :p

Richer sounds warranty is great as its no-lose. If it breaks the extended warranty replaces it, if it doesnt then you get your money back. For the sake of taking a company to small claims court (£35 + time and inconvenience)... £30 seems a good deal to avoid the faffing about.

Had it before and they pay up as soon as you reach warranty end.

Regassed?

even 10 years ago there wasnt GAS POWERED TVS!!!!!!!!!!

Couldnt disagree more.... the deal is available it is just very limited. And you would not be asking for them to be banned if you were the one with a tight budget and then somebody posted this deal and you were lucky enough to have one nearby. By the definition of the term, this is a hot deal, albeit limited in supply. The nature of these super bargains is that sometimes the supply is limited, its just lucky for some, and one day im sure it will be lucky for you and not anybody else. Hot deal op, and im sure there are many people very glad for you and Richer Sounds offering this deal.

Do you mean the plasma will outlive the garantee so no need to buy one?

Your PD5200 must, at most, be a little over six years old. I bought one myself when they were first released, in March 2004 :)

Tried to buy 2 different tv's from richersounds yesterday. 1st one I tried to reserve - sorry it has a cracked case, do you still want it. Second one showing stock on the website but they didn't have any. Note - may be repaired sets, incomplete or ex-display sets.....or even damaged!!
What has happened to richer sounds, didn't they used to be a good shop??

tbf the thread title does say "instore".......... and surely if youre going to ban RS then you will have to ban every deal that has limited availability in someway?!

People keep posting trash clearance stock, im not sure what people expect when it says " it may be ex repair ".

If you want a product to be perfect just buy a new one ...

Agreed, one of the few good highstreet warranties, and they don't do that illegal "You can just pretend you've dropped it" line that I hear so often in Comet and Currys to sell useless and overpriced warranties. It's a sensible business practice, because the overall fail rate of electronics is incredibly low, and even a 20% return rate of people not reclaiming their warranty fee due to having sold the item on before it's up will turn a decent profit for the chain.
