Saw this in store when looking for a 50" and Argos were doing that version of this model for £369. The 50" is supposedly only 50Hz but Currys advertise this as being 100Hz.

Asked the guy at argos to bring the box out and there was no literature on it about it (model LG 50LB561V). This was enough to sway me to go elsewhere but at this price, the 42" isnt bad..

Don't forget O2 moments if you have it.

Yeah at this price really isnt, and its second tv. Our old one is 50" 3D Samsung C680

Sometimes they have a 100hz processing rate but a 50hz motion rate, however LG seems far superior compared to samsung

So tempted!

Good price if you just want a LCD TV. For another £20 you can get the smart version of LG's 42in TV priced match via PRC at John Lewis + get a 5 year warranty,, found in this posting Richer sounds also sell the magic remote for this TV for £25 with a Wi-Fi dongle.

LCD? Not LED as per title?

I've had this TV since November. It's 100hz motion and processing. It looks great and I've never noticed any motion blur when watching films, sports or playing on the xbox one (which it runs at 60hz). Only thing I don't like is the stands that seem standard on most LGs

It's a LCD television with LED for backlighting. Of course it's not a true OLED at this price...

I've got the LG LN5400 for my dad which I think is the same as this apart from the HD Tuner, I must admit the quality is pretty darn good for the buck.

LED TVs are LCD TVs with an LED Backlight.

Bought it last week for that price. I'm surprised nobody posted this deal earlier D:

Can also connect a usb hard drive to this and turn it into a PVR.

Great price for a standard TV. Heat added, :-)

What's the sound quality like ? Pretty poor I'd imagine, like most TVs these days but I'm asking as I'm interested in dipping my hand into my dusty wallet

I purchased this TV over the xmas period as an upgrade. The picture quality I'd fantastic as is the sound. My husband uses his Xbox One connected to.it and he is extremely happy with it. Would definitely recommend it.

NB.
50' = 50 feet!
50" = 50 inches

I bought 32' of this model 2 months ago. Screen is IPS, picture and sound is better than expected and you can wide range of options to tune them in to your like.
Really very happy with this particular model. Samsungs of the same spec cost more but I prefer LG.

Got same one from tesco. Same price & 5 year guarantee

any tips on how to make that work?

Got 1 of these and no faults for £279 being 100hz cannot fault pic quality

I just bought this TV from John Lewis for £379. I never had a smart TV so I need your advise. The picture looks good but the people are sort of zoomed in while the backround looks very cheap. In the movies remind me of the studio made movies. Is this normal for this sort of television. It's 42" and I'm contemplating exchanging it for the 32" or even returning it and put back my old but heavy JVC

Went to both john Lewis and currys and both completely swayed me away from lg and towards Samsung and Sony even ones in same price range, apparently screens are just a much lower quality but at this price who can complain

Nope! They are vicious rivals in South Korea.

You often get a free small microfibre cloth with the Tv, good for cleaning the wallet, 2 birds 1 stone....

Standard def will never look as good as it did on a CRT.. I reluctantly replaced my broken HD CRT just after Xmas, and while the new LCD one I have bought looks good on HD content, normal TV/SD content is pretty bad.. Its the same on all LCD/Plasma HD TVs because of the scaling. Had my CRT not died I'd never have replaced it..

(note this is my opinion before everyone tells me i'm nuts, i realise a lot of people cant see properly and think that LCD's are better in every way - I disagree)

Have not seen a tv on sale that has good decent speakers , all of em have "flat" tinny sound ones.

But im not bothered as i got Logitech Z-5500 that works perfect!

Only now when i need to move this to me bedroom then i need to get something decent there to as speakers.
Gaming on this screeen is nice, even thinking its better / sharper than on my old Plasma Samsung.

This is the inherent problem. "thin" TV's = thin speakers.... poor sound. if youre not bothered about 5.1 or surround, a good quality 2.1 pc speaker set will sound amazing and these can be bought very cheaply these days.

Just got this today, it's fantastic, really slim, build quality is brilliant and the picture is great.

Got it playing videos from an external hdd, and it has the option to pause and rewind TV with a hdd attached (haven't tried this out yet)

Got £25 off with o2 priority moments.

As others have said the legs are a bit inconvenient being so far apart, but will hopefully be mounted.

Why cant i play MKV files on this TV? Just MP4? Can this be updated?
