Surely the picture quality on a 42" standard HD plasma would be poo? I saw a similar size telly on display in Argos and it looked awful.

If it were LCD, then yes it would have been awful.

Plasma panels work in a different way and will outperform their LCD counterpart.

I can't find any online reviews to support this but I don't think you'd be at all disappointed with the quality of it.

My mind is pretty much set on the praised 37" Toshiba on Amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00179SI3E/ref=s9_subs_gw_s2_p23_aw_t1?pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=0X6GFKWHPMXF3JZMA5WC&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=467128533&pf_rd_i=468294 but this gets me thinking... Anyone knows how good this one is?

Seeing as PCWorld are doing the PG3000 for the same price ...

I'd recommend this over the 2000 series, mostly because I can't find any reviews on the 2000!!!
