looks a real nice TV, very slim too

I bought from JL for £550. Excellent TV

Great TV that. I bought a similar LG model in the January sale at John Lewis after being given a demo, was really impressed with the passive 3D ability as wasn't expecting much. 6 months on and couldn't be more happier watching the World Cup on it (although would of preferred a better performance from England...). Although one downside I have found is when gaming, I do encounter some ghosting at times, but it's minimal.

If you do get one, I would definitely invest in the Magic Remote (wand) well worth it. £32. I wasn't going to bother but it really makes a huge difference, haven't used the remote that comes with it.

Top tip: Keep those cinema glasses you buy as they work even better than the free ones you get with it!

Was wondering what the difference with this and the 620v is as the OH has the 42" 620v.

Found this:

http://www.avforums.com/threads/lg-42la620v-v-lg-42la690v.1797618/

So a better refresh rate. As I noticed the motion blur on hers when we put a world cup game on. Hadn't noticed it prior to that. The 690 version is double the refresh rate of the 620 so that may be improved.

That post mentions dual play on the 690. The 620 also has this.

The 620 is back lit LED though. The 690 is edge lit. Which makes it a little slimmer.

The 620 is decent enough. 3D is fussy about vertical viewing angle so worth knowing if you plan to wall mount. Decent TV though and this is a good price on the 690 version. Heat.

Scorchio, even more so with the NOW TV vouchers. Not looking for a tv but very tempted.

I have this TV and I paid £650+ for it last year - has been worth every penny and never had a problem with it.
Can't recommend this TV enough. Picture is clear and found HD looks awesome on it.
At that price... Very Hot!

If they have stock in Crampton and Moore then John Lewis will do a price match and you can get 5 years warranty with that. Worth a try.

They will price match if you fill the price promise form and provide Crampton and Moore link. I have done this a few times in the past and always had price match. You get 5 years warranty as an added bonus.

just got the 620 for this price from John Lewis. really impressed. was a price match of richer sounds. had to turn down the smoothness a little from default though as everyone looked like they were moving in fast forward.

They will not price match this price anyway. (I don't think)

I have the 55" version, amazing TV's and the 42" is well worth that. Sound quality is easily the best on an LCD TV's I've heard, I didn't even bother getting a speaker bar or surround system for mine (although they would obviously still be better, I just don't watch enough TV to warrant the extra spending when the sound is easily good enough for general viewing).

Fantastic Price. You can even add on 3 or 5 year warranty with them and the price will still be cheaper than anywhere else I've seen this for sale.
#34
I just purchased the 47 inch model
And its being picked up by LG for repairs (the optical port is unresponsive) so far not ao good!

Also i asked JL if they would price match as the 5 year warranty reeled me in but the item for them to price match has to be a high street store and not an online offer "/

To be honest with you, I could see JL Price matching the C&M actual website (but that is £479) I doubt they would price match the eBay store.
#37
Does anyone know this includes the 'magic remote'?
#38
I just ordered.

Just something to bare in mind.

This TV is edge lit LED which means its much slimmer than backlit LED however edgelit tv's use more power and have a reduced contrast ratio.
