5 year warranty is £40 with these guys so still a better deal than John Lewis.

£329 at Richer Sounds including a 5 year warranty if you sign up to their VIP club (for free), but not available online.

This standout Richer Sounds offer is the best by far. And don't forget the free Peerless screen cleaning gel (normally £9.99) for VIP members (free to join and takes seconds - just an email address required).

No motion blur as per review here http://www.amazon.co.uk/review/R250MCNLKRDUCV/ref=cm_cr_pr_perm?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B00J3328KA

I can confirm there is no motion blur, or if there is I can't see it. All the (mostly 5 star) reviews I've seen of this set, even the occasional 3 and 4 star reviews, all say the picture quality is outstanding. Occasional criticism tends to be of the set's smart capabilities, particularly the shortcomings of the remote in this respect, and the inability to access itvplayer and 4OD . Otherwise this is a top notch TV for 'supermarket special' money.

Yes. When I bought my TV today the assistant didn't offer it to me either, I had to mention it to him despite me saying I'd been a VIP on their mailing list for some time. Fortunately I noticed the offer in an email before I went. If it's convenient go back to the store and ask for it. Richer Sounds customer service is normally excellent but not today, possibly due to sheer volume.

LG 42lb580v comes with single smart remote however 42lb585v comes with 2 remotes (1 standard and 1 magic remote).

http://www.lg.com/uk/tvs/lg-42LB585V - only sold by Currys PC world with standard manufacturer warranty.
http://www.lg.com/uk/tvs/lg-42LB580V - sold by JL - £379, RS was 399 but £329 in-Store only (no Online).

So RS deal is better if somebody is willing to travel to RS store, otherwise RGBDirect deal is 2nd next with their 5 year warranty costing 39.99 as total cost becomes ~340 .

Great TV.

Had it for a couple of months now, super picture (after tweaking the settings), decent sound, good smart options and really easy to use with the Android Phone App.

Great deal.

Is the refresh rate of this TV 100Hz or 50Hz?, reading conflicting figures and might opt for this over the TV I've just ordered from Amazon if so.

Magic remote included with 585v but not with 580v. couple of more minimal differences. but major is 585v is not sold by any other retailer to my knowledge. but 580v is available with RS, JL, Tesco, Hughes direct , even Argos. So competition there.

You can buy magic remote for £24 on Amazon, maybe less elsewhere, I haven't looked hard. So isn't still cheaper to buy this then get the remote separately? Is the magic remote even worth getting? Doesn't look all that impressive.

Any good for ps4?

To clear up any confusion, motion rate is 50Hz and motion proceesing (LG's Motion Clarity Index system) is 100Hz. These may seem fairly modest figures but the picture is outstanding - no flickering, motion blur or judder. I specifically asked this question on Amazon and respondents said there was none of these problems. i also took a close look for myself at the Richer Sounds display model before buying and can confirm this. And the common theme with all the customer reviews on Amazon, Revoo, Argos, Richer Sounds etc etc is the outstanding picture quality.

So, don't let the 50Hz motion rate put you off.

Cheers for the info, but I'll pass. I want to plug this into my PC to pin to the wall and anything less than 60Hz is just not good enough for gaming or viewing YouTube (now they support 60 FPS). Still a good price for what seems a good TV.
