The 47LD450 is a Which? Magazine Best Buy so, if the 42" has essentially the same panel & processor, then it looks like a decent bargain.

£401.05 inc 5 yr warranty - HOT!

However from what I've been lead to believe the 47 inch model only uses a s-IPS panel. The 42 inch has a selection of panels used - some better than others.

Seen these on display in Tesco, screen looks brilliant
#5
only two HDMI's but at this price I am sure you can live with it.

It's a minefield choosing a new TV. You read a glowing review about, say, a 40" model, & assume that the review holds true for the 32", 37" & 46" versions. When in fact they use panels by different manufacturers, & may have inferior picture quality to the 40". Which itself may be sold with 2 or 3 different panels of variable performance. It was never like this with CRT TVs.

thx

Not the cheapest ever for this model? Very HOT!!!
#9
Must make this HOT so have voted accordingly. Remember if it is not what you expect you can always send it back but for this price anyone wanting to upgrade could do a lot worse than take a close look at this!

Check out the reviews at Argos ( which is retailing for 110 quid more than Amazon)

This tv has been dropping price quite a lot over the last few months, thinking I may just wait another month before I take the plunge

Is this freeview hd or just standard definition?
#12
Might work out better to get this from Dixons with Cashback

Whats this like for gaming on the ps3 ?

I have one of these and I can vouch for it's quality in everything. PS3 and Xbox on Component is excellent quality. And at this price it is super hot.

I have one of these and can recommend it highly. Luckily mine is one of the s-IPS panel variants, I couldn't comment on the others as I havn't seen them.

This may sound like a stupid question, but when you press sleep, does it let you select how many minutes ?

Because my Sammy only lets you pick a minimum of 30min :/
#23
thank you just ordered from Dixons, Free Delivery on Saturday. Bargain! freeview HD doesnt bother me as we have Sky HD anyway and as long as there is a HDMI for Sky and the hubbys Xbox then we're sorted!
#24
ok, i was more than just tempted.
ordered :D

DAMMIT! ORDERED THIS FOR £360 a few days ago, it's just arrived!

If I send them an email will they give the money back? Cause it's cheaper to return it and then order a new one.

I bought this TV from Richer Sounds last year for around £420, £470 with 5 years warranty, even though the price has dropped quite a lot I am not too bothered because it was worth every penny. This TV is very good, the SD picture is amazing, sometimes its like I'm watching in HD, it's perfect for gaming also, no lag whatsoever. Great TV and highly recommend.

Going to see if Richer Sounds will price match, would rather buy from there due to outstanding after sales service if anything goes wrong.
#32
Got this TV from Dixons, should work out about £328 with cashback - it was delivered today.

You can check from the serial number if it has the superior S-IPS panel or not, luckily ours has.

Worth every penny, very happy!
#33
Can you confirm the method please for identifying this?
#34
There are seriously techy ways of doing this, which can be found on AV foums, but the quickest way is if the serial number contains a W!

I think if you just email them or get in contact with their customer service they have a service for guaranteeing the price I think :) ... if not their customer service will sort it :)

I also bought for £ 360 2 weeks ago. Rang them, 2 mins on hold, £22.54 refunded to my account :-)

And for those umming and arring, buy it! Amazing value, fantastic tv, sd and hd picture amazing, cannot fault it.

Thanks, just ordered for my mum....

Trying to find out the easiest way of enabling USB playback...

Found this thread... but lots of reading to do.... apparently can be done without a special remote by downgrading firware, anyone done this?

Okay to a point but really want a 100hz model, Watched Hitman blu ray on it the other day and its not as smooth as i would have liked. standard picture settings arn't amazing and you really need to adjust them manually to get the best. also speakers are clear but without the bass. Paid £360 less than 2 weeks ago, mate bought his on saturday for £359 so the more they are selling the cheaper.
