The only thing missing is Freeview HD which I have in my LD690 but this is a damn impressive TV 42" for that cash, picture quality is superb on this set!
#5
I also have this TV, great price.

Not exactly brimming with features, but what it does have is very well done.

i hope its a good tv. just ordered one from dixons for the same price but also got 4% quidco making it a better deal. never had any trouble with dixons so dont know what the issue is

Amazon are probably the best etailer on the net with fantastic customer service!
They are very hard to beat when it comes to having a problem with your purchase as we only find out whether customer service is any good when things go wrong!

You need an allforone remote control.
Thanks to AVForums for this :)

TV needs to be turned on ..

1. Press and hold down the MAGIC key on the 8206
(for about 3 seconds) until the rabbit comes
out of the hat (the screen will change to the setup screen)

2. Press the DEV SET key

3. Press and release the TV key to select the device type you like
to setup.

4. Enter 0178 using the number keys. The animated IR Indicator
will blink twice.

5. Now, aim your 8206 at your TV and try the
following keys to test if its working ..

+ or - .. that should be channel up/down ..

6. If your device is responding You can ESC/ESC out of here.

Now we need to program an extra button to open the 'Service Menu'

1. Press and hold down the MAGIC key on the 8206
(for about 3 seconds) until the rabbit comes
out of the hat (the screen will change to the setup screen)

2. Press the KEYMAGIC key

3. Press and release the TV key again.

4. Press the MAGIC (Top Hat!) key once.

5. Enter 00018.

6. Press a key you want to use for this command ..
I used the 'Red' button on the bottom
The IR Indicator will blink twice and the screen will return
to the Setup screen. Press ESC to exit from here.

That's it! .. now press your programmed button and you should see a
pop-up on the TV asking for a password .. mine was 0413.

Now in the service menu go down to 'Tool Option3' ..
from here to 'Divx' and change the 0 to a 1 .. exit out of here
and you should be done.

You probably don't need to use the first part above (replacing the whole remote!)
but I find it handy sometimes.

Hope that helps!

You don't need to replace the remote; but if you want to perform the 'hack' to allow the TV to play DivX from USB then you use an all for one remote to do that; you can carry on using the supplied remote after...

By all means use hacks to release what functionality you can on the box; but personally having spent a few days messing with an internet enabled TV I can't see any point in paying extra for a TV that can handle a limited range of media formats and has crippled internet functinality.
Much better to invest your money in a media server PC connected to your TV.

Ignore the first lot of 6 steps.

Although the hack requires an allforone remote (I used a kameleon)
It can also be achieved with a logitech harmony or some mobiles.

In terms of the movie functionality I've found it's played all files I've tried it with thus far.

BUT has a smaller screen size AND costs more money.

The only feature I've missed so far is an option to do picture in picture or picture by picture.
