The 5 TV Year Warranty is NOT refundable in the same way the 5 Year Supercare is.

"Richer Sounds is offering on all plasmas and LCDs a comprehensive at home warranty at only 10% of the product purchase price. With all LCD and plasma TVs the warranty is for 5 years.

This page is intended to demonstrate the incredible value of our 5 Year TV Guarantee. Under recent legislation, we are obliged to point out that you obviously do not need to purchase an extended warranty at the same time you purchase your electrical goods and are entitled to shop around. We have been encouraging our customers to do just that for years because, not only are our prices significantly cheaper than our competitors, but just look at what else we include:

* Full parts and labour cover If your unit goes wrong we'll fix it. No quibbles and no fuss.
* Pick up and drop off at your home Carting a screen around can be a tricky business. To save you any unnecessary hassle, should your screen need repairing, we'll pick it up from your home and return it as soon as it's ready. (LCD under 32" return to store)
* Like for like machine replacement if unit is unrepairable If, for any reason, we are unable to repair your unit, we'll replace it. Naturally, models do change so, while we can't guarantee that it will be the same model, we do guarantee that it will have equivalent specifications.
* 45 Day Cooling Off Period If you're not happy with our 5 Year TV Guarantee package just ask for a full refund - no questions asked. After 45 days, providing no claim has been made, you can also terminate the agreement and receive a pro-rata refund."

Doesn't seem that hot to me.

42" for £300 is good, LG is good & it is LED backlit.
However - only 720p, no Freeview HD, and only 2 HDMI inputs.

If I were buying a 42" TV today I'd want 1080p, Freeview HD & atleast 3 HDMI inputs.

not everyone connects to Freeview, use this with sky HD.
Sky doesn't transmit at 1080p

It's cheap and it's good if you use it for TV purposes... If it's gonna be your primary Blu-Ray display I'd suggest getting a 50+ if you could house it

Got to agree if I was to buy one I would want it to be 1080p, good price though.
The email they sent out actually advertised the TV as 1080p so glad I spotted this!

agree with above, fantastic TV for the money, but I would rther spend 350 or 400 for Freeview HD and better USB playback, and also Full HD at 40" plus, fingers crossed for boxing day!

Best to speak as you find........ I've gone to 3 different Richer Sounds specials on Bank Hols etc...and got what I went for each time...shops will usually have at least 10 of these at each store. Personally, I've never had an issue with RS....... including exchanging a dvd player that went belly up after just on12 months...they gave me a full refund without question.

that is a rather old model. The LH2000 was the entry level model from 2008/09. You'd be better waiting for other stores sales where the newer 42LD450 will be £299
#15
we also just tried to reserve one, said we have to wait til the day so it'll be 1st come 1st served!

How do you work out that it is LED backlight? It is a standard LCD panel.

It's not a great tv, I wouldn't pay any more than £299 for it anyway.

Can confirm via the cheerless assistant in the Edinburgh shop today, they have zero stock and you can't reserve.

Out of 3 TV's I had on a want list, they have none of them. Seems like they don't stock much in there at all so be warned.

My mistake; not LED backlit.

Knock another good point off then! ;)
£300 is definitely nothing special IMO.
