Great TV, I got JL to price match this deal and the TV arrived last week. I have nothing but praise for this TV.

Might go for this if JL price match

The black and silver 660T is around for £669 and is the same bar the colour, so if you want to save £40 it's still a beautiful TV that, stylistically at least, more than stands up to the frameless Samsungs, though this silver one is also gorgeous. Other than a little LED backlight bleed like they all do, it's a cracker of a set with the easiest 3D viewing I have had, much better than Panasonic (ST30) and Samsung (D6900) with zero flicker and zero crosstalk. Even the motion is pretty good for LED, handled the Olympics with aplomb.

    Will JL definitely price match?

Seems expensive compared to the 42lm620t which is £499 at richer sounds/ John Lewis price match

As far as I can tell the only difference is Wifi is built in to this (£25 for a dongle) and 1 extra pair of clip on 3d glasses (£1.50 from fleabay)

Not voting as no tech expert and there could be another differences but just want others to be aware.

Incidently for those wondering about Electro centre, I bought a 42lm615t for £479 off them about a month a go. Their service and delivery was great start to finish. Had to call them on the agreed delivery day as needed to pop out for an hour, they were more than happy to give me the drivers mobile number to see where he was on his round and what time he was likely to arrive. Thta's better than most in my book.

This is a good price for this model.

However it is identical to the cheaper 660T except for the colour and style of the surround and stand.

Also the 620T is identical apart for the following:

Different and thicker bezel and different stand
    No WiFi
    No magic wand remote
    One less set of glasses

So if none of the above are important or if you can get a cheap WiFi solution then the 620T is the better price.

However if you want the 670T then this deal is the best that I can find and so should be voted hot.

620T also doesn't have local dimming but that is not a biggy. 660/669/670T is a far better looking tv as well.

Was looking at both the lm620t and this model side by side at richer sounds and I would definitely say that this was the better looking of the two picture quality wise, plus the screen on this set was edge to edge with a slimmer bezel.

Saw the new LG tv's today at my local electrical store. Was amazed at how good they look. Blew away both similar priced Sonys and Samsungs. Really are some of the best looking t'v I have ever seen. Like minimalist works of art.

Issues wih 24p playback apparently, thats why its not on the spec sheet.

"The e-mail from trading standards has stated that LG are "unable to support 24p material in its current state due to a hardware/software flaw." And those customers who purchased the product when 24p was an advertised specification are allowed a full refund.

What Trading Standards also said to LG is even more significant, they have been advised to ensure that their “future advertising was accurate for that TV/range” and this not only implies that a fix for 24p issues is unlikely, it has also forced LG to remove any mention of 24p support from their website for the LM range of TV’s."

Bad Times for LG, I nearly bought the 47LM660T couple of weeks ago but I am fussy and reading that put me off.

NO VOTE from me as I consider these affected LG TVs a pile of TAT and would therefore not buy one however for the less fussy this may be a good buy.

Having checked the release info for the latest Firmware Update it seems pretty clear there is no 24p fix just yet and I doubt it is likely to be fixed.

Had a reply from JL yesterday they were going to price match, however the reference number they gave me refers to an LG LM669T, not this TV

24p plays just fine on mine, impressively so in fact from both BD and HD-DVD with long sweeping panoramas and tracking shots.

    That is beautiful.

I wouldn't care if it was a bag of crap, you wouldn't have to turn it on to be entertained by it.

I bought the LG pk350 tv 17 months ago and it broke last week, LG didn't want to know, luckily I bought it with a credit card that gave 12 months extended warranty do fixed for free, LG tvs apparently suffer with power supply problems.
I wouldn't buy another LG product after my dealings with them.

    1) how does this compare to Sony 40HX853 (40 inch) for under £750.
    2) how does this compare to Sony 46HX753 (46 inch) for under £700.

    suggestions please

All manufacturers have an initial negative response to situations similar to yours ( probably company policy ). However a few well worded letters and if needed a solicitor letter normally does the trick. All companies hope that if they stone wall, customers will give up at first hurdle.

Heat for this deal......price match with JL and its an absolute bargain!!.....don t think about it, get the price match and its a steal.
