Sorry guys, the picture has a 1080p icon but upon closer inspection I'm pretty sure it's 1024x768. Not quite as good as I thought but still, might help someone. Also no Freeview HD.

Yeh its Plasma though so still a very good deal. I saw this myself on ebay and thought ooo thats a pretty good deal, shame I don't actually need a new tv at the mo :-)

    Wow! Great find.

    1024 x 768 pixels is not 1080p, ad says resolution is 1080p it's not.

Good value, but sadly no Freeview HD.

this is basically the newer version of my TV from what i can tell.

    (I have the LG 42PQ6000)

And I have been more than happy with it. Even though I personally in this day and age would pay more and get 1080p (mostly because i use mine for PC use as well as TV) , if you are on a strict budget for under £280 it is an excellent buy.

    good price.

is this better than the £300 42" 1080p LG that the same company has on offer at the moment too?

seeing as plasma upscales like a beast for this price I doubt you'd notice a fat lot of difference even if the res is only 1024 x 768

1080p is where all the gold in the world is...

Having no experience in the past of Plasma Tvs, or indeed a 1080p TV showing a decent picture (shops never do tvs justice!) would a 1080p TV be that much different to something like this? I'm on the hunt for a decent 40-42" tv to replace a 5 year old 26" LCD i have that is also 1024x768. HUKD conditioning say i should get a 1080p but is there really that much in it?

For reference i would be using it in the living room with a Tivo box and Ps3 games/ Blueray movies
