If the gas builds up it can have a detremental effect on your cognative abilities, this is one of the reasons that Comet/Curries TV salesmen, who are surrounded by multiple TV's on a daily basis with windows that don't open, act the way they do. It's also one of the major reasons they claim LCD TV's have a better picture.
Lots of people claim there are no gas leaks, when in reality they themselves are probably in a "gas" induced state, an easy way of spotting this is their inability to detect ridicule, irony or sarcasm.
im pretty sure plasma tv nowadays dont require gassing anymore?
No mate. They defo need gassing every couple of years. The guy in Comet was telling me as he sold me a 5 year warranty that almost exceeded the value of the TV. Glad I got it though, huge weight off my shoulders.
On the plus side, it won't take as long to gas as it's only got 720 lines to fill.
Lol, the guy at comet was telling you, while buying his commission filled warranty?? Hahaha.
Regassing is a myth, especially on modern plasmas!

Still voted hot.
Seriously! not everyone wants full HD and show me a branded TV for under £300 40"+ thats Full HD!
HOT OP!

But yeah, I checked the real specs and this is 720P only, so not AMAZING.
For £300 you can expect quite a lot nowadays. It's not stupid to expect to see a £300 deal for 1080P so don't be such a spanner yourself, there have been loads of deals for 1080P TVs of this size for the same price (but not such a good brand) e.g. http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/hitachi-42-inch-full-hd-1080p-freeview-lcd-argos-for-299-3d-version-for-extra-100-1234401

Aye, it is still a cracker of a TV, suitable for most people and most content is 720P or less (like the content you describe). See reviews: http://www.amazon.co.uk/LG-42PA4500-42-inch-Plasma-Freeview/dp/B007K4V2DI
Some people (like me :p) are just picky

Yeah, like blind people for example.
768 lines plasma screens are just awful. Don't take my word for it, go to the shop and have a looker

I would hardly call Sharp a decent brand! still you did find one so furry muff!
