Still on the hunt for that excellent 42" plasma TV deal......Using the sale800 code just posted by Emma the LG42PC1DA 42" plasma TV is now just £779.00 delivered or only £759.52 with Quidco. I won't put the specs down again as they have been discussed to death in other threads, but this is the cheapest I have seen it. In stock for me (Aberdeenshire) as well unlike most of the other TV's on their site. A great 42" TV judging by the reviews for not much over £750. So much choice and the prices keep dropping - I'll never decide at this rate.

Another £20 off with the code PRICE20, apparently, though i haven't tested if the codes can be stacked.. This makes it £740 after Quidco!

Looks a great price, although i'm after a cracking 42" LCD TV myself, just waiting for the right deal to come along

Me too, the longer I wait the cheaper they get. The downside, though, is that TV's like the Panasonic TH42TX60 and the Samsung PS42Q7HD are now very difficult to find as they have been updated and stocks of the earlier models are running low. The new models are, of course, much more expensive. It's great having cheaper prices, but not if no-one has any stock!

Don't forget to drop the scart lead before adding to the basket or you'll end up paying £789

If you have an egg card should be even cheaper, got the Panny on order with JL but dont think i will get one , been looking at this tv but dunno what to do

Watch out at the crafty sods add a scart lead !

Add Code PRICE20 ..... Brings it down to £759 and Free Delivery.

It was free delivery anyway, but an extra £20 is always worth having. Good spot. I wasn't sure if you could stack the codes or not. I've turned you back to green.....

I'd hope no-one is using scart leads on a 42" HDTV anyway

How else do you connect your Sky box or DVD player that only has a scart socket

That is a fantastic price :)

When I got my plasma 3 weeks ago it was a toss up between this one and the Samsung PS42E7HD from dabs @ £799 (http://www.dabs.com/productview.aspx?Quicklinx=41HD&SearchType=1&SearchTerms=samsung+plasma&PageMode=3&SearchKey=All&SearchMode=All&NavigationKey=0)

I had allways wished at the back of my mind I had got this LG one insted but I couldnt find it at a decent price at the time. That was untill I saw this LG in Tesco's and I have to say the Samsung blows it away for picture quality.
Glad I chose what I did now :)

If you are thinking of this LG definatly have a look at the Samsung (they can be found on the net for a similar price)and try and see them both in action :)

Good price for the spec. But I wouldn't personally go for an LG, there are much better models out there.

Personally I wouldn't usually buy an LG either over a Samsung or Panasonic, for example, though I'd probably find it hard to justify that decision if challenged.......As I said earlier, though, it is getting hard to find these earlier models in stock now that they are being replaced. This is the only one I have found, so far, in stock, and just under the price from John Lewis including their 5 year warranty. If you add Dixons 5 year warranty it works out a few pounds less and the John Lewis aftersales is supposed to be much better (can't be any worse than Dixons, surely).

My local John Lewis has one of these left, but is also hoping to get the Samsung PS42Q7 in stock shortly at £995, which I prefer. I can get it cheaper elsewhere, but £1100 is the best I can do when the warranty is added. I can't bring myself to spend this much without the security the warranty will offer. It's getting harder to get John Lewis to price match as no-one has them in stock. I like the Panasonic one as well, but same problem.

Just rang JL my 42" Panny has arrived in the warehouse might as well pay the £150 extra and get a cabinet,5yr warranty and better TV :-D

If you manage to get two, let me know:thumbsup: I can't get John Lewis up here (Aberdeen) to price match on anything. How much did you get the Pansonic & cabinet for in the end?
