sorry to sound like a total noob but surely the screen resolution doesn't have an aspect ratio of 16:9 more like 4:3?

yes it does. plasmas stretch the pixels horizontally slightly I believe hence 768.

that resolutuon is **** if it displays in HD then the picture will be all squashed

Gunna bump once more....as still confused why we have a 42inch LCD with a no name brand on the front page and not this LG plasma for like £50 more

Cheap Whats the quality like? I am tempted to get a new TV even though i know i shouldn't
