Just ordered online, not had much experience of plasma but 42" for £569 using voucher code YAW850 seems pretty good and with currys quidco up to 5% it could end up at £541.50!!!

dont want to put a dampener on your new tv but this set tends to buzz a lot, read this on av forums then went to currys myself and yes it does buzz how much its hard to say in the showroom. apparently its the 100hz which makes it buzz

[SIZE=2]This is the 100hz version of the 42PC55 which does not have the best reviews. SD source is mediocre but HD is better apparently. Freeview tuner is meant to be very poor and picture is grainy with a lot of noise. Not a great TV but a good price for a 42" plasma.

Well, they've reviewed it priced at £900, so some allowance has to be made fo the OP's price of £570 or less. Onboard freeview is pretty much a waste of time with a lot of sets, so I wouldn't take that too much to heart - particularly if you primarily want it for gaming and DVD's.

I've got non-HD ready model LG, (I can't remember the number off the top of my head), and it has an excellent picture via Sky and a fine 420p DVD picture. I'd seriously consider getting this for the kids gaming and DVD watching in the family room instead of the current 32" CRT - which has a wonderful picture but is a little too small for the size of room.

Thanks for the pointer OP:thumbsup:
